It fills my heart with an immense joy that Climate Of Chaos is a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. A million thanks to Washington libraries, the judges, and of course, the readers.
And a huge congratulations to my fellow nominees!!
I moved to this beautiful state in 2006 and when I started writing this YA dystopian book there was no doubt in my mind that Seattle would be the setting.
To know my book starring a disabled protagonist, written by a disabled author, is nominated for such a prestigious award truly is overwhelming. There are so many hurdles within this industry and moments like this where we're celebrating disabled representation makes them all worth the grind.
