(UN)DRESSING SENSUALITY
Season after season, American designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez continue to redefine the new LOEWE through ultra-creative craftsmanship, utilitarian chic and cultural provocation.

For SS27, sensual ease comes in the form of crisp striped shirts and sporty anoraks tucked into “post-surf scuba meets toreador”-inspired trousers buttoned high above the navel.

A nod to the House’s Spanish heritage, with echoes of Ruvén Afanador’s “Torero” (2001), his striking black-and-white photographic exploration of matadors, masculinity and theatrical sensuality.

Sometimes, looking forward means looking back.

Number 14 in The Fashion Canon: Dries Van Noten SS27 Menswear.

Of the 25 collections in my Canon, this is the only dedicated menswear collection.

That’s because, more than any other collection this decade, Dries Van Noten SS27 captures what menswear in the 2020s actually looks like.

Tiny shorts, sheer fabrics, lingerie, ballet shoes, softened tailoring, utility, romanticism, exposed skin. None of it is treated as provocation. It simply exists as menswear.

Julian Klausner didn’t predict where menswear was going. He captured where it had already arrived.

The Fashion Canon; 25 Strongest Collections of the Decade So Far 14: Dries Van Noten SS27 Menswear is live now.
