POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

During a 2019 road game against South Carolina, Alabama running back Najee Harris delivered one of the most iconic, video-game-like plays in Crimson Tide history. Facing a critical 4th-and-3 from the Gamecocks’ 43-yard line midway through the second quarter, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw a short swing pass out to Harris near the left sideline. Catching the ball right at the first-down marker, Harris immediately faced heavy resistance but chose to take matters into his own hands.

What followed was a display of strength and athleticism. Harris first encountered South Carolina defender D.J. Wonnum, using a strong one-handed stiff-arm to break the tackle and stay upright. Maintaining his speed along the sideline, he then encountered defensive back R.J. Roderick. Rather than initiating contact, Harris went airborne, leaping over the defender before landing on his feet to continue the run.

After breaking away from the final pursuit, Harris reached the end zone to complete the 42-yard touchdown reception. To celebrate the score, Harris stood in the end zone and struck a pose with his arms stretched wide, a gesture inspired by United States women’s soccer player Megan Rapinoe. This play helped extend the lead to 24-10 in an eventual victory for Alabama.

During the 2018 Orange Bowl College Football Playoff semifinal, Alabama running back Josh Jacobs delivered a memorable highlight against Oklahoma, showcasing his bruising physicality and elite agility. In the second quarter of the 45-34 victory, Jacobs caught a pass in the flat, immediately lowered his shoulder, and trucked Oklahoma defender Robert Barnes for a touchdown. This emphatic collision, which saw the 6’2” Oklahoma safety toppled by the vengeful, Oklahoma-raised runner, became a defining moment of the game, cementing Jacobs’ impact as both a power runner and reliable pass-catcher on a night where he totaled 158 total yards.

Ryan Williams has rapidly ascended to legendary status in college football, becoming a centerpiece of the Alabama Crimson Tide offense as one of the most explosive freshmen the sport has ever seen. Standing out with his jersey number 2, Williams possesses a rare blend of elite track speed and professional-level route running that allows him to dismantle veteran secondaries with ease. His arrival in Tuscaloosa was met with immense hype, but he exceeded those expectations almost immediately, showcasing a “clutch gene” that allows him to thrive under the brightest lights of the SEC

His most iconic moment came during the 2024 showdown against Georgia, where he delivered one of the most remarkable game-winning plays in the history of the rivalry. After Alabama had surrendered a massive lead, Williams hauled in a deep pass, executed a pair of breathtaking spin moves that left elite defenders stumbling, and sprinted into the end zone to secure a dramatic victory. This play not only solidified his reputation as a “big-game hunter” but also signaled to the rest of the country that he was already one of the most dangerous playmakers in the nation, regardless of his age.

Beyond the physical highlights, Williams is often praised for his maturity and technical “savant” nature when it comes to understanding defensive coverages. Despite being much younger than his opponents—famously playing at just 17 years old during his breakout—he displays the poise of a seasoned senior, consistently finding soft spots in zones and winning contested catches at the sideline. His impact has revitalized the Alabama passing attack, making him a perennial Heisman candidate and a player that opposing defensive coordinators have to game-plan for every single week.

The iconic play between DeVonta Smith and Derek Stingley Jr. occurred during the 2019 “Game of the Century” between Alabama and LSU. The touchdown was a masterclass in psychological warfare, as Alabama’s coaching staff had noticed on film that LSU’s secondary, led by the then-freshman star Stingley, had a habit of looking toward their own sideline for defensive checks whenever the offense showed late movement. Alabama exploited this tendency by having quarterback Tua Tagovailoa feign a late audible, intentionally drawing the eyes of the LSU defenders toward their coaches just seconds before the snap.

As Stingley turned his head toward the LSU sideline to receive the defensive adjustment, Alabama snapped the ball, catching the elite cornerback completely out of position. By the time Stingley realized the play had started and snapped his head back around, DeVonta Smith had already used his explosive release to gain several yards of separation. Smith sprinted down the sideline entirely untouched, hauling in a 64-yard touchdown pass that left the stadium in a state of shock and the LSU secondary scrambling to recover from the miscommunication.

While Stingley would go on to be a top NFL draft pick, this specific moment became a legendary example of how mental lapses can be just as costly as physical ones in high-stakes college football. It set the stage for Smith’s career-long dominance over LSU, which famously culminated the following year in 2020 when he put up over 231 yards and three touchdowns against the Tigers. The “sideline glance” remains a frequent teaching point for defensive backs on the importance of “eye discipline” and never taking your focus off the receiver before the whistle blows.

Ja’Marr Chase is an elite American professional football wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals, selected fifth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft out of LSU. Known for his explosive speed and YAC (yards after catch) ability, Chase immediately established himself as one of the NFL’s premier playmakers. As of May 2026, he is a consistent Pro Bowl selection, having broken several Bengals single-season and franchise records, including his 2024 campaign where he led the league in multiple receiving categories.

His connection with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow—who he also played with at LSU—was instantly rekindled in the NFL, leading the team to Super Bowl LVI in his rookie season, where he was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year. In his first four seasons, Chase became one of the few players in NFL history to open his career with four consecutive 1,000-yard receiving seasons. His ability to dominate defenders, both deep and in tight coverage, has made him a vital part of the Bengals’ passing attack.

Beyond his early-career stats, Chase is recognized as a top-five wide receiver in the league, consistently producing in both the regular season and the playoffs. He holds the Bengals’ postseason records for receptions and receiving yards. As a cornerstone of the Bengals’ long-term future, he continues to demonstrate elite talent that could eventually lead him to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Jameson Williams’ 2021 season at Alabama was pure lightning in a bottle. Coming in as a transfer from Ohio State, he didn’t just fit into the offense; he completely redefined what it looked like. Every time he touched the ball, there was a collective breath-hold in the stadium because you knew he was one step away from a 70-yard touchdown. He ended up leading the SEC in receiving yards and scores, but it was the way he did it—with that effortless, gliding speed—that made him look like he was playing at a different tempo than everyone else on the field.
The real “guts” of his story showed up in the National Championship game against Georgia. He was already having a massive night when his knee just gave out on a non-contact play. Watching him go down was a total gut-punch for the team, but the legendary part is that he actually tried to walk it off and get back in the game. He didn’t want to accept that his season was over, especially with a trophy on the line. Even after being told his ACL was torn, he didn’t disappear into the locker room; he came back out to the sidelines to support his teammates, which says everything you need to know about his competitive fire.
Even with that devastating injury, his stock barely dropped because everyone knew his talent was undeniable. The Detroit Lions traded up to get him in the first round while he was still rehabbing, and that gamble has paid off big time. He’s carried that same “one of one” energy into the pros, becoming a nightmare for NFL secondaries and proving that his one year in Tuscaloosa wasn’t a fluke. He’s the kind of player people will still be talking about years from now when they debate who the most explosive receiver in Alabama history was.

Joe Flacco is a veteran NFL quarterback best known for his 11-season tenure with the Baltimore Ravens, where he established himself as a durable and elite-level passer. Selected 18th overall in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Delaware, he immediately became the starter and helped lead the Ravens to the playoffs in each of his first five seasons. Renowned for his strong arm and calm demeanor, Flacco’s crowning achievement came during the 2012 season, where he led a memorable playoff run that culminated in a victory in Super Bowl XLVII, earning MVP honors after passing for 11 touchdowns with zero interceptions in the postseason.

Following his time in Baltimore, Flacco played for several teams, including the Denver Broncos, New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, and Cleveland Browns, primarily in backup or stopgap roles. Despite being considered past his prime, he orchestrated a stunning resurgence with the Cleveland Browns in 2023, stepping in midway through the season to guide them to a playoff berth. His performance, which included multiple 300-yard games, earned him the 2023 Associated Press Comeback Player of the Year award, proving his capability to command an offense even in his late 30s.

Entering the 2025 and 2026 seasons, at 40 and then 41 years old, Flacco continued his remarkable career as a valued veteran backup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Even at this stage, he has maintained high standards for his play, securing his first-ever Pro Bowl selection in the 2025 season after starting games in place of Joe Burrow. Still playing with 18+ years of experience, Flacco is recognized for his leadership, longevity, and continued ability to produce high-level quarterback play when called upon, while also providing veteran mentorship in the locker room.

Ryan Coleman-Williams (formerly Ryan Williams) is a star wide receiver for the Alabama Crimson Tide heading into his junior season in 2026. After becoming a national sensation as a 17-year-old true freshman in 2024, where he recorded 865 yards and eight touchdowns, he experienced a statistically quieter sophomore campaign in 2025 with 49 receptions for 689 yards and four touchdowns. Despite leading the FBS in drops during his second year, he remains a centerpiece of the Alabama Athletics offense and is expected to have a resurgent year as the team’s most experienced playmaker.
In March 2026, he officially changed his name to Ryan Coleman-Williams to honor his mother, Tiffany Coleman, whom he describes as his “best friend”. Along with the name change, he switched his jersey from No. 2 to No. 1, a number he previously wore during his high school career at Saraland. He has described these changes as a “hard reset” intended to help him regain his elite form as he takes on a larger leadership role following the departure of several other key receivers to the NFL and the transfer portal.

Ryan Williams is one of the most exciting young playmakers in college football, bringing elite speed, quickness, and natural instincts to the field. Playing for University of Alabama, he made an immediate impact as a freshman, showing advanced route running and the ability to create separation with ease. What stands out most is his explosiveness—he can turn short catches into big gains or beat defenders deep in an instant. Despite his young age, Williams already plays with confidence and polish, making him a future star in the making.

Jeremiah Smith has all the tools to be a dominant receiver at the next level, combining size, strength, and elite ball skills. At Ohio State University, he entered with massive expectations and has shown flashes of why he was one of the top recruits in the nation. Smith uses his physicality to win contested catches and his smooth athleticism to create separation, making him a nightmare matchup for defensive backs. With his blend of power and finesse, he has the potential to become the next great wide receiver to come out of Ohio State.
