The word Bab (باب) means gate in Arabic and appears in the names of many entrances to the old city.

In Morocco, doors are part of the city’s visual identity. Their vibrant colors reflect local traditions, craftsmanship, and the Andalusian heritage that still shapes the medina today.

✨ Every door is a small detail that tells a larger story.

🏺During our pottery workshop, participants from Morocco, Italy, and Spain came together to discover one of the oldest and most meaningful crafts of the Mediterranean.

Guided by a local artisan, we learned how to shape clay with our own hands, exploring traditional techniques while sharing experiences, ideas, and cultural perspectives.

What began as a simple piece of clay became an opportunity for connection: a space where different backgrounds met through creativity, patience, and craftsmanship.

✨ Three countries, one table, countless stories shaped by hand.

We’re starting to tell you about Tetouan through one of its most iconic residents: cats. 🐱

A few fun facts:

• In Morocco, many cats are cared for by entire neighborhoods rather than a single owner.

• In the medina, you’ll often find cats sleeping in the same spots every day, as if they’ve claimed their own little territories.

• Port cities like Tangier have hosted generations of cats that originally helped control rodents around ships and warehouses.

• Cats are traditionally viewed positively in Islamic culture and are often welcomed in public spaces.

• After a few days in Tetouan, you’ll realize that almost every street, square, and doorway has at least one cat quietly observing the world.

Safe to say: if you’re exploring Tetouan, you’re never doing it alone.🐾
