This week’s Conversations with CATLEA provides a bit of insight into the evolution of the Language Barrier concept album and the emotional journey from inception through the release. Language Barrier dramatically shaped CATLEA’s personal and musical development over the three years it took to write, record and produce the ten-song masterwork. It’s been an awesome ride!

In today’s video CATLEA discusses the lessons learned while making an album. In this case, CATLEA worked closely with Jason Boshoff and Oscar Garcia-Bragado of Room to Studio in Barcelona on the Language Barrier album. Music is a collaborative process and a great producer offers constructive criticism and guides the recording sessions in such a way that the artist is open to ideas and possible changes in direction in a song, while also protecting key creative concepts dear to the artist. This was definitely the case with Language Barrier.

Everything is better in the sun ☀️ June has been my favourite month of the year so far. A few new cities ticked off, a handful of flights taken, introduced to some amazing new artists from across the pond who I’ve streamed non stop since working with, a million familiar faces I’ve bumped into now it’s festival season and what feels like a billion shows shot :)

Bermudian pink welcome night 🇧🇲💍 everyone got the pink memo 🤝some may know, some may not but I’m part Bermudian. Issy and I had amazing holidays there together drinking many dark n stormies and rum swizzle so thought we’d dedicate the first night to that.

Highly recommend a pre wedding evening if you can. Meant we could relax into the craziness of it all and have a proper chat with everyone before the day. Advice given to us by @ellysplate was to enter any moment possible 🤣🤣 absolutely class memory seeing everyone there ready for the weekend 🤍

my wedding day suit 🤝🏻 without doubt the best thing I’ve ever worn. Thank you @zebelofficial for making the designing & creation process so special for myself and my groomsman 💚

Once Issy & I decided the theme for our wedding I knew I wanted to be in a green suit of some sort. The zebel team allowed to chose every single element of my suit; the buttons, stitching, accents, lining & even let me chose a custom monogram to go under the collar.

The groomsmen were in bespoke beige single breasted suits with custom detailing personal to them. My best men had custom monograms under the collar also. Really special touches that they can keep forever.

FULL OUTFIT:
Suit - @zebelofficial bespoke green double breasted
Tie - @zebelofficial
Shirt - @zebelofficial
Cufflinks - My grandad’s
Shoes - @ronning brown city loafer
Broach - sourced vintage for myself & groomsman by my friend @annaplace
Watch - @tudorwatch black bay harrods 41
