FYC: BEST POP SOLO PERFORMANCE. 🙏🏻

This is not a nomination — but as the song says, the best is yet to come. And who knows… maybe this will be the one that gets me there. ☀️

It may say “Solo Performance,” but there was nothing solo about getting this song here. Huge love and gratitude to @mitchallan128 and @lindyrobbins123 for helping me bring this one to life, and to my teams at @brillbuilding and @wearetheguard for believing in me, this song, and everything we’re building.

I’ve been making music for a long time. I’ve had some incredible highs, plenty of lows, and more than a few moments where it would’ve been easier to pack it in. But I’m still here, still making records, still believing in these songs and still betting on myself.

To all my Recording Academy voting member homies out there — please keep an ear and an eye out for THE BEST IS YET TO COME. in the first round of voting. If it speaks to you, I’d be incredibly grateful for your consideration — and please share it with your fellow voting members.

And to the KONGREGATION. — keep this one in your hearts, minds and speakers. Share it. Sing it. Send it to somebody who needs to hear it. You guys have carried these songs with me through a hell of a lot.

Maybe, just maybe, we can carry this one all the way to a nomination 🙌🏻

'Every Breath You Take' is one of the most performed songs of all time. Take away one riff and it disappears.

Strip out that guitar part and you've got Sting singing over some chords. Forgettable. What makes it iconic is the signature riff, a part so distinctive you'd recognize the song in two seconds. That's the lesson: the biggest songs aren't just chords and a vocal. They have one signature idea, a hook or a riff, that belongs to them and nothing else.

We help independent artists write songs with something worth remembering. Follow for more.

So excited to announce that my client @jameswimbleymusic has signed a publishing deal with @brillbuilding! 🎉

James, it has been such an honor watching you grow. You’ve worked so hard to develop your voice and your vision, and I couldn’t be more excited for everything ahead. I can’t wait to see your music continue to grow, reach new audiences, and make its way into even more corners of the world. ❤️

A very special thank you to @michaelbarkoff for negotiating this agreement for James and for always looking out for him, and to the entire Brill team, especially @carolcarl and @_benjamingroff, for believing in what we’re building and being excited to help us take it even further.

And of course, thank you to @susykosmin for always being his number one fan (but I’m right behind).

So proud of this team and so excited for this next chapter. Let’s go! 🚀

🎉 Signing Announcement: James Wimbley 🎉

We’re so excited to officially welcome artist, songwriter, and vocalist James Wimbley to the Brill Building family!

James has been surrounded by music for pretty much his entire life. He started singing at just 2 years old, picked up the piano at 8, and by 10 was playing guitar and writing his own songs.

At just 15, James has already had some incredible moments in his career. His music has caught the attention and earned support from artists and creatives including Lady Gaga, Tina Knowles, and Teddy Swims, and in 2025, he was featured alongside Sienna Spiro in Gap’s holiday campaign.

We’re so happy to be part of your journey, James, and can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

CASSANDRA - I'VE GOT FEVER. WATCH ON TV FOR THE FULL EFFECT! Shot on my neighbourhood street with my Scandinavian neighbour, easy rider STAN. . . . one day chatting outside the warehouse, I told him he's like Dolph Lundgren, which gave him a cheekily surprised smile ahahah, trying to coax him into appearing in my vid . . . then suddenly I knocked on his door and he was in his BIKER GEAR FOR ME. Shot by MATT SPIKE who I have posed for in photos and love his eye, I thought he would shoot an amazing video. . . this is his debut music video I LOVE IT, he has a specific eye and really composes the shot . . . . By nice coincidence all the graffiti guys of Fish Island were out, and can be seen in the background as we ride through which I love showing the cosm of Hackney Wick, where many of my creative friends all live . . . . . I loved editing it together contrasting certain shots with the music . . . thanks Tanner & Andy helping brush my hair after my hurricane dancing for the next shot, Andy wheeling Matt on his dolly down the road, Tanner leaping into action with some art direction, Stan being my biker loverboy, and Al -- the boy Stan keeps under the stairs -- capturing Stan's glamour shots lol. . . . I had no heels left and planned to buy some, but then thought hmm no, I want to be bare feet feral fervent cavewoman Cassandra but also Drew Barrymore in POISON IVY I recalled scenes of her barefoot in a leather jacket . . . So I bought no shoes and painted my toe nails red. . . . Wearing my classic @kashifnadimchaudry red velvet dress (rolled down into skirt!) I'VE GOT FEVER written & produced by Cassandra, mixed & mastered by Cristian Perugino (thanks for booming my drums and giving my snare & synths a gorgeous sheen Cristian my always go-to mixer) @original_matt_spike @sit.down.andy @the.rich.wick @tannnerjamesss @pankomatchcat @cristianperugino @cassandra3000bc
