MY NAME IS ON THE AWARD. BUT IT DOESN’T BELONG TO JUST ME.

On Sunday, October 18th, I experienced a moment I’ll never forget.

Tom and Steve Clark surprised me in front of a crowd with an award recognizing my contributions to USA Boxing.

I was truly humbled.

Anyone who really knows me knows I’ve never been about individual recognition. There’s a reason our motto at Sonny’s Boxing is WE NOT ME.

Because nothing meaningful is ever accomplished alone.

Over this past year, our team has poured its heart and soul into putting on boxing shows throughout New England.

The long days. The sleepless nights. The stress. The sacrifices. The things nobody sees.

And I promise you, it was NEVER about the money.

It was about giving amateur boxers something they deserve.

A stage. An opportunity. A moment under the lights to show the world what they’ve worked so hard for.

Because somewhere out there is a kid whose life might be changed forever by this sport.

And maybe one of our shows will be the moment that kid realizes their dreams are possible.

THAT’S WHY WE DO THIS.

To Tom and Steve Clark, thank you from the bottom of my heart. This recognition means more than you’ll ever know.

To every competitor, coach, USA Boxing official, staff member, parent, and family who has supported our mission, THANK YOU.

Without you, none of this is possible.

Years from now, nobody will remember how much money we made putting on a boxing show.

But somewhere, a fighter might remember that we gave them a chance when all they needed was someone to believe in them.

And if that’s the legacy we leave behind, every sacrifice was worth it.

This award may have been handed to me.

But it belongs to ALL OF US.

SHE CAME TO SONNY’S BOXING WITH ZERO INTENTIONS OF EVER FIGHTING… 4 YEARS LATER, SHE’S THE NEW ENGLAND CHAMPION. 🥊🏆🔥

Meet Franki Vitale.

An attorney licensed in THREE states. ⚖️
Runs a business with her parents.
Bartends on top of it all.

Needless to say, THIS GIRL DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO STOP HUSTLING.

For four years, Franki walked through the doors of Sonny’s Boxing with absolutely ZERO intentions of ever stepping into the ring to compete.

Then, about a year ago, something changed.

She decided she wanted to fight.

Now, anyone who knows me knows Franki isn’t just another member of this gym. She’s like a little sister to me. And the thought of willingly letting someone punch her in the face? Yeah, that wasn’t exactly an easy decision.

But I knew how badly she wanted it. So we went to work.

This past weekend, Sonny’s Boxing hosted the New England Championships, and Franki stepped into that ring against an EXTREMELY tough opponent who came from an incredibly well-coached corner.

Nothing was handed to her.

SHE EARNED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

And when it was all said and done…

🏆 FRANKI VITALE. NEW ENGLAND CHAMPION. 🏆

From someone who never planned on competing to standing among New England’s best.

I couldn’t be prouder of her.

A huge thank you to every sparring partner who helped prepare her, her family, her coaches, and everyone who supported her throughout this journey. You all played a part in this moment.

What’s next for Franki? We’ll figure that out.

But for now, there’s only ONE thing left to say…
