Augest 25th: saw some horses;

Last minute trip that @_bl0b3rt__ had me drive / plan

we carried entirely too much stuff, 12”cast iron pan, guitar, banjo, PINK ORB we got from a yard sale, just to name a few. backpacking on a beach, surrounded by people in their trucks fishing was not a great outdoor experience, but once they all left for the night, the Bay and surrounding nature was beautiful. we cooked out on the beach and then cowboy camp under the stars… even tho we carried and set up our tents.

saw a fox eat our apples in the middle of the night.

the next morning we ran out of water. with many home fries to eat and a 4 mile hike back on dry sand with heavy packs. we suffered through, wishing we could drink the water. Every time we passed a truck tailgating on the beach we considered asking them for water.

eventually this kind man yelled to us and asked us if we were thirsty, he also gave us some food , then even gave us a 2 mile ride back to our car.

on the ride back his wife told us stories of her time as a trauma nurse in the ER and all the people she’s taken care of who had broken their necks body surfing and through various other activities.

she said things like
“i will always remember his deep blue eyes staring back at me. i could see the fear in his eyes. 30 year old man who had just been rushed to us, he was paralyzed from the neck down, all he could do was move his eyes and i could tell he understood everything I was saying. i hope he ended up ok, but i never got to find out”🧿🧿

really felt like a deep lesson should be learned from this conversation,

then she told us to get ice cream at the Island Creamery and it was AWESOME 10/10 recommend !
was a good end to the trip

most spontaneous trip yet!!! Bought my ticket to Puerto Rico the day before the trip! Had absolutely nothing planned or booked. Robbie decided to join at the last minute and things worked out better than i could have hoped (or planed) 🥹.
Made GREAT FRIENDS with the AMAZING girls working at the second hostel we stayed at.

This trip was an important reminder to be more spontaneous and free because sometimes life just works out beautifully with minimal planning by following your heart❤️‍🔥🙌🏻

-Charco prieto waterfall is now my second favorite rock of all time 🪨🥹
- la Factoría in old san juan: 4 amazing bars 💃🕺🏼
- swimming and dancing in the ocean at 4:30AM on new year is now a core memory 🌊🌌🌊🐬🫡

shout out to:
@wofflehouse and @makin_crafts_not_babies for recommending PR, hopefully i’ll get to see you guys next time 😜

and to
@hay__oh , @tahliaschreiber and @m.leddy for being dope friends and convincing me to be spontaneous on our hike the day before 😂 . i hope u follow ur own advice too 😜
