POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

After an incredible hunt, Madi got to spend the rest of her time enjoying the Colorado mountains, and one of the highlights was getting to spend so much time on horseback at the ranch with her sister! She absolutely loved it, and it quickly became one of the things she most wanted to do once the hunt was over.

The rest of the week was filled with exploring the ranch, riding in the side-by-side, learning to call elk, and sharing meals and stories around the table. There were plenty of memories made beyond the hunt itself!

A huge thank you to @bucketheadranch for opening your ranch and time to Madi and her family. Your generosity made this entire experience possible, and we’re incredibly grateful.

We’re also so thankful for every person and partner who donated gear, funds, time, and resources to make this trip happen. These trips truly take a community, and we never take that support for granted.

We’re grateful that Madi is now part of the Outfitters 4 Hope family!

What an evening for Madi!!

We headed back to the same meadow where we had watched elk move through the night before, this time settling into a good position along the edge and waiting to see what the evening would bring.

A few bulls were bugling from the timber above us, and eventually a cow stepped out onto the hillside and fed her way past. Then another bugle sounded, this one getting closer.

A lone 6x6 bull stepped out across the meadow.

Madi was ready. She settled in, made a perfect shot, and the bull went down within sight of the group!

The hillside erupted with cheers, laughter, and a whole lot of gratitude. And making the moment even more special, Madi’s dad and sister were right there to experience it all.

It was one of those evenings where we could only stand back and thank God for the way He brought every piece of the story together.

What an incredible moment for Madi, her family, and everyone blessed to be there!

God is an amazing story teller who writes beautifully. This week could not have been penned better. God made this girl with spunk and a zeal for life, Jesus met her in her darkest hours as she battled Leukemia….twice. Jesus won her heart and she showed up this week and won ours. Madi dropped her bull with picture perfect shots on night 2. Literally two heart shots splitting the heart in half. Then the real fun began as we could spend the rest of the time in fellowship and fun. It was one we won’t forget.

Meet Lucas!
Our team was blessed to meet Lucas and his family at the annual O4H Banquet this May in Redding, California, where he was surprised with the opportunity to fulfill his dream elk hunt in Colorado this fall.

After a summer full of excitement and anticipation, Lucas and his dad joined our California team and flew out to Colorado to begin his dream hunt!

Day One started with a trip to @johnstownscheels to pick up Lucas’ elk tag and grab a few last-minute items before heading for the mountains. Once there, we settled in, dialed in the rifle, and got Lucas’ eyes on his first elk, and his ears on his first bugle!

After an evening surrounded by elk and echoing bugles, Lucas could hardly wait to see what Day Two would bring.
