Parents and guardians, bring your children in grades 1st–5th to The Treehouse tonight from 5:30 PM–7:30 PM so the kids can learn about our Seedlings Mentorship Program and meet the people who will be pouring into them this year! . Mentorship should begin before children are forced to figure everything out on their own. Seedlings helps our younger children build confidence, communication skills, emotional intelligence, healthy relationships and self-efficacy while giving them a safe place to learn, have fun and be surrounded by people committed to their growth. . THE TALK TO ME MENTORSHIP PROGRAM IS BACK!!! 🌱💪🏾 . We are calling ALL past participants and new youth to join us for Orientation Week at The Treehouse! For more than 11 years, Talk To Me has poured into hundreds of young people through real relationships, consistent mentorship and conversations that prepare them for real life. . This program helps youth strengthen their confidence, communication, emotional intelligence, decision-making, accountability and leadership. We create a space where young people are heard, challenged, supported and reminded that their lives have purpose. . The success of Talk To Me has never come from simply hosting programs or events. It comes from showing up week after week, building trust and remaining present as our youth grow. We believe mentorship should produce measurable change and there is no version of mentoring children without irrevocable responsibility. . Want to give a HUGE S/O to my brother Dave, owner of @blazinflavorz for always showing up for the community and making a real investment in our youth! 🙌🏾❤️ Today we loaded up the campers and pulled up to his business to show love the right way. We paid for our campers to enjoy his amazing water ice while also giving them the opportunity to experience what it looks like to intentionally support a Black-owned business. . Dave was our Black Business Owner Spotlight, and he did way more than serve water ice. He took the time to pour into our campers by sharing his journey of building a successful water ice and exotic pretzel business from the ground up. He dropped real gems about entrepreneurship, consistency, sacrifice, and what it truly takes to turn an idea into a thriving business. . Of course, it wouldn’t be Blazin Flavorz without letting every camper enjoy the products and let’s just say they were a HUGE hit! 😋🍧🥨 The smiles on their faces said it all. . Dave, thank you for always answering the call, believing in our mission, and showing our youth that success is possible when dedication, hard work, and a solid plan come together. Representation matters, and seeing a Black business owner who looks like them, comes from the community, and is building something great is a lesson they’ll never forget. . We appreciate you, we celebrate you, and we’re grateful for everything you continue to do for our city. Keep blazing the trail, my brother! Last week we allowed the campers to bring their bikes and scooters to camp so we can take a ride on the Hunting park Bike trails. It was a great experience to utilize Hunting Park natural resources for our campers entertainment. The kids had fun and so did the youth counselors 😂. . One thing about @phillychefcj … he’s always gonna show up for the youth. . A huge THANK YOU to Chef CJ for coming through to the Talk To Me Summer Camp and blessing our campers with an interactive culinary workshop, teaching them how to make delicious dishes while introducing them to new skills, creativity, and confidence in the kitchen. . What makes this even more special is that this wasn’t his first rodeo. Chef CJ has consistently poured into the youth of AIPTS over the years, and that kind of commitment doesn’t go unnoticed. We truly appreciate people who don’t just talk about giving back they show up, build relationships, and invest their time into the next generation. . These are the kinds of experiences our campers will remember long after the summer ends. Every workshop plants a seed, every mentor makes an impact, and every opportunity expands what’s possible for our young people. . Every year, when my birthday rolls around on July 10th, I celebrate a little differently… . I don’t ask for gifts for myself I give my birthday to the kids at the Talk To Me Summer Camp. ❤️ . This video is exactly why. 😂 I asked them one simple question… . “What do y’all want to eat for my birthday?” . As you can see… they definitely had some answers! 🤣🌭🍔🍟🍕🍭🍬🧁 . Now it’s time for us as a community to make it happen. . Last year, so many of you stepped up and helped us create an unforgettable birthday celebration for our campers. Thank you to everyone who donated snacks, food, drinks, and resources. Your generosity turned my birthday into a day these kids will never forget. . Let’s make this year’s celebration even BIGGER! . We’re looking for donations of: • Hot dogs & hamburgers • Chips • Candy • Water, juice & sodas • Ice cream & popsicles • Cupcakes, cookies & funnel cakes • Pizza • Fruit • Anything else that will help us throw these kids an unforgettable summer celebration. . Yesterday’s friendly competition had everyone laughing, cheering each other on, and getting their hearts pumping without even realizing they were exercising. . 100-degree weather wasn’t about to steal our campers’ joy. 💦☀️ . When the heat turn up, so do we. We made the decision to turn the day into one big water battle with water blasters with ice water, plenty of hydration breaks, and constant check-ins to make sure every child stayed cool and safe. . One thing about Talk To Me we’re always going to find a way to make the best out of any situation. Keeping kids safe doesn’t mean the fun has to stop. It just means you get creative. . These are the moments they’ll remember long after summer is over. A place where they can be kids, build friendships, laugh until their stomachs hurt, and know they’re surrounded by adults who genuinely care about their well-being. . Summer camp isn’t just about keeping kids busy.
