RIP LEGGENDA Sono senza parole.

I posted a possible solution/recipe last week by which smart contracts could be a valuable method of tracking the volume of artists work in batch size & iterations in the training set which could then calculate the percent royalties due to various composite AI original works. You could apply the existing @ascap & @bmi models for radio share of voice, but better because the smart contracts could be an exact algorithm rather than 24 hour sampling of radio stations. This would assume the AI model = the radio station and the derivative works being generated = all of the artists being played through that station at once, as that is somewhat the case. The AI clone artists being a composite of the training material. I do think this is critical to the future of artists and so glad to here @sarahkatesilverman has taken on the daunting task of fighting for her

“artistic-magic” intellectual property, which is ephemeral, hard to quantify, and essential to “the heart of the work” thus cannot be used under “fair use”.

I started a POC using @opensea to convert songs into smart contract editions/collections which could be a way of minting rights on materials in such a way that would allow @librarycongress a methodology that could be integrated into the existing @MLC systems for tracking mechanical royalties. The utilization of NFT/smart contracts in this use case is very practical and useful in that it would allow artists both a method for tracing AI batch size use and percent contribution to that AI clone generated work, but also the method by which to be paid directly via wallets. It would also be good for the crypto folks in that it is an incredibly important economic structure of micro-payments that could be a coin stabilizing avenue.

In case it wasn't clear - I'm not talking about a crypto investestment! I am talking about using dApps to embed IP protection and accounting applications inside songs, and other works.

💥This Coming Friday 💥
Only a few days to go then i will have the pleasure to have my Brother @richmedina back in Puglia to let him do what he can do best, to bring us all into a high quality musical journey!

RiCH MEDINA is an elite international DJ who, in the thirty-plus years since he spun his first record, has turned his young love for music into a celebrated career as a platinum-selling record producer, recording artist, poet, journalist, and Ivy League lecturer. From the legendary nine-year-run of his Lil‘ Ricky‘s Rib Shack party at APT in Manhattan‘s Meatpacking District, to his globe-spanning, conscious-raising, dance-floor-shaking party Jump-N-Funk, a sonic tribute afrobeat and its iconic creator Fela Kuti, Rich stands without peer as a contemporary DJ of diverse range and taste. A sonic storyteller par excellence. But his art pushes past those boundaries. As a respected spoken word artist, he has performed on stages around the world, and his sonorous voice has been utilized by everyone from EA Sports to Nike. He‘s an intellectual and public speaker who has lectured at TEDXPhilly and his alma mater Cornell, amongst others. And he‘s a producer of note, crafting work with a range of artists, including Jill Scott, J Dilla, Bobbito Garcia and Phil Asher. In short, Rich Medina is the modern-day renaissance man— an Artist and visionary who has built a compelling narrative on his own terms. And his journey continues.

See you all at @supersantos.soulbeer for a special night to not be missed🎧🎶🎵🔝
