A Morehouse moment. 🎬 Two Men of Morehouse and a Morehouse Man.
All roads led to Hillman. 🫱🏾‍🫲🏽

Crazy how things happen. I went to my first A Different World audition straight from a funeral, dressed in all black. I didn’t really know what I was walking into. I just signed up and showed up.

That turned into 16 days on set between the “HBCU Pilot” and the official Season 1 student, football player, stand-in for about 5 different actors, and whatever else Hillman needed 😂. I was even a custodian carrying chairs one day.

Got to watch some really talented people work and learn how things happen on both sides of the camera. I soaked it all in.

Thank you Ms. Debbie Allen for specifically asking to have me back 🙏🏾. Still crazy to me. And thank you Felicia Pride, Brandi + Jordan at Central Casting, and everybody who showed me love along the way.

Shoutout to my Morehouse professors too 😂. Y’all were understanding even when you didn’t quite “understand.” Appreciate you for working with me.

And Crafty…y’all held me DOWN. 😂🤌🏾 Gold to a college student.

Some of my work made the screen. Some didn’t. I learned every time I showed up.

Congrats to everybody on a phenomenal Season 1. 🎬
Grateful I got to be a small part of it.

Once you graduate from the SPC Internship, you’re not just an alum. You become family. You also become an ambassador for everything this program represents.

The pride our past and present interns have for this program makes my heart burst. 💜

Last night, we wrapped up VBS & Family Conference with our Silent Party, and y’all… I’m tiiiiired! 😂 But when I looked around and realized almost all of our interns, past and present, were in one place, I knew we had to capture the moment.

Yesterday, our current interns presented their capstone project, and on Sunday they’ll officially graduate. Seeing our former interns come back to support, encourage, and celebrate the new class means more than words can express.

Pastor E always says, “Well, you’ve got 23 kids now.” Honestly, he’s right. 😂

We are one big, loud, loving, slightly wild family, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love every single one of them, and I am so proud of the incredible leaders they’re becoming.

Here’s to another class of SPC interns joining the family. Once you’re in, you’re in. 💜

On my way to the State Capitol! My beautiful Season 3 interns surprised me with beautiful flowers and a heart felt card letting me know that they were thinking of me on Father’s Day. They completely caught me by surprise and it was truly the pick me up that I needed. I love these humans so much. (Just missing Makenzie but she was apart of this too.)

What time is it?! Internship time! After 4 intense days of interviews and deliberations we have our season 3 internship class. We had well over 30 applicants that we interviewed and they were all really strong. Our new interns just completed their first week of onboarding/orientation and today they were officially introduced to the Saint Philip congregation. I’m excited to work with my new crew! I remain thankful to my Pastor for trusting me to help carry out his vision and allowing me the opportunity to continue to work with our interns it’s been such a blessing. #MySeason3Babies #YGB7

Caden- Today you turn 20 and I’m in awe of the young man you are becoming.

This past year stretched you in ways no résumé could ever capture. You learned how to lead when it was uncomfortable, how to stay disciplined when no one was watching and how to move with humility while carrying big dreams.

I’ve watched you grow in purpose, confidence and compassion and I thank God daily for trusting me with you. Every early morning, every late night, every quiet win matters.

From Peru, to pretty awesome film sets we once prayed you’d walk onto, to choosing to walk for peace on your birthday, God has been faithful.

“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Proverbs 16:3

You don’t chase attention. You chase excellence, and that’s what makes me most proud.

Happy 20th birthday, my son. Keep walking your path with integrity, faith, and courage. The best chapters are still ahead. 🤍
