Crafting quietly elegant homes with a timeless English sensibility, across the UK and beyond.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

There’s a quiet ease to this kitchen and breakfast nook, where traditional details meet the warmth of everyday living. Creamy cabinetry, weathered beams, soft textiles, collected artwork, and natural wood create a home that feels layered and beautifully lived in.

@caisley_interiors embraces the character of the past while keeping everything light and considered. The result is relaxed, refined, and full of charm.

Colour affects far more than how a room looks, it changes how a room feels to live in.

Some colours can soften spaces and help us relax, while others stimulate energy without us even realising. Which is why choosing paint colours can sometimes feel surprisingly emotional.

I think many of us are craving homes that feel calmer, warmer and more supportive right now. Understanding colour psychology can really help with that.

I’ve done a full deep dive on colour psychology over on Substack including how different colours affect mood & temperature. As well as how to use colour intentionally in your own home

I think pink is one of those colours people either love or feel slightly unsure about using. Usually because it can feel like it might take over. But when it’s used like this, it feels completely different. It’s not everywhere. It’s not the only thing you notice.

A stronger moment in the pantry by @isabellaworsley
Softer in the living room by @caisley_interiors
and sometimes used as a background neural like the living room by @ottoline_interiors

The key is that it’s always balanced with neutrals, texture and materials that ground it. That’s what stops it from taking over.

If you’ve been unsure about using colour, this is usually what makes the difference. Not less colour, just used more thoughtfully.

(I’m writing more about how colour actually affects how your home feels on Substack this week)

Good morning! There’s a quiet ease to this kitchen and breakfast nook… rooted in tradition, yet softened for everyday living. Creamy cabinetry, timeworn beams, and natural light work together to create a space that feels calm, familiar, and deeply inviting.

@caisley_interiors leans into the past without feeling heavy, striking a balance between rustic texture and a more refined, considered simplicity.

With Valentines around the corner, red naturally comes into focus. I must be honest it's a colour I don't normally gravitate towards but I am increasingly drawn to all things red.Deep reds add warmth and depth, while brighter scarlet tones bring energy and focus. I love how these designers have all used it so differently-either by colour drenching or incorporating very little — a small accent in a painted door or a single detail in a stripey cushion to make a bold statement.

I recently sold a beautiful red geranium painting that generated more enquiries than anything I’ve ever listed!

So I’m curious — what is it about a touch of red that people can’t resist?

First impressions are everything, and this entrance hall certainly speaks for itself. Rich terracotta floors offset by calming pink tones - the welcome everyone needs.
