🌸 S P R I N G B R E A K for this empty nester was a trip to the nation’s capital to spend some time with my people. Sometimes you don’t know what you need until you get hold of it.

We got to check out the cherry blossom festival; have lunch at the @waldorfastoriadc ; have dinner at @elpresidentedc ; get coffee at @yellowthecafe and @_mamannyc_ ; get Thai takeout and binge Apples Never Fall; watch movies; arrange flowers; cook dinner; take the metro; walk about; talk about future plans and just chill.

Also (not pictured) a quick trip home to Cincinnati for the homegoing celebration of my sister friend’s beloved mother- where I got to spend time with my dad and some friends -old and new.

It was a really good week after what had been a couple of bummed out ones. The older I get, the more important this feels. But I also recognize i am in the season to be able to do this, with my kids out of the house. It was indeed “just what the doctor ordered…”

What did you do for spring break? (Is it still called spring break if it doesn’t involve students?!)
