Yoga teachers! The next session of our continuing education series is coming up! This month we will focus on elevating our functional understanding of biomechanics.

Biomechanics is a critical factor to consider in sequencing your classes. Whether you want to create a flow that is focused on teaching a specific engagement, opening up a specific part of the body, integrating mobility, stability, and strength elements in a category flow, or facilitating a feel good, full body experience, an understanding of biomechanics is important. This installation of Second Saturdays in Satsang will empower you to be curious about the human body, to sequence from a place of knowledge and empathy for the different ways our students are built, and to understand how the body is meant to move and what we can do to best support our students in learning about their bodies as part of this practice.

When: Saturday, August 9th from 12-2pm
Where: @dallasboulderingproject
Who: any and all current and aspiring teachers are welcome to join!
Cost: $50 for guest teachers

dm me with any questions!

Yoga teachers! I’m so excited to announce the launch of my continuing education series through @dallasboulderingproject : Second Saturdays in Satsang. Satsang is Sanskrit for communal gathering in pursuit of truth, and that is exactly what I hope this educational opportunity will become for each of you. This series intends to create a forum for discussion and a deeper dive into various aspects of teaching across practice subsets and class formats. Each installation will focus on critical subjects related to the practice with opportunities to learn from thought leaders across the yoga community, eager to share their insight and experience with you. My hope is that, together, we can elevate the standard of knowledge and intentionality in yoga education across DFW.

The first installation, scheduled for Saturday 7/12 from 12-2p, is Sequencing Authentically. Who you are as a teacher, what differentiates you, and what you prioritize in your practice and in your teaching, will shape how you choose to sequence and structure your classes. In this installation of Second Saturdays in Satsang, we will work together to understand and articulate what differentiates you as a teacher, discuss what factors to consider when deciding how to structure your sequence, and explore various sequencing structures within the constructs of popular class formats.

Here are the details!

OVER 15+ HOURS OF MOVEMENT | LECTURES | LEARNING

Our Summer Movement Camp is a rare opportunity to dive deep into our approach to Movement.
While there are many ways to learn with us, nothing compares to the immersive experience of being physically present in these extended sessions. These intensives offer a potent mix of hands-on exploration, inspiration to ignite your practice, and a lifetime’s worth of material—condensed into two rich and transformative days.

A BODY OF INTELLIGENCE :
Our two days together will center on what it means to have a body that is fully aware, awake, and alive with intelligence. We’ll explore this not just through movement, but through perception—cultivating a body that listens, adapts, and responds with nuance.
The camp will weave familiar movement threads with unconventional approaches—skill work, somatic exploration, and embodied inquiry—to develop qualities that support this deepening embodiment.

Topics we’ll explore include:

::: Aware Arms :::
What does it mean to have arms that are fully capable—responsive, expressive, and prepared for any movement scenario? We’ll explore strength, coordination, and sensitivity in equal measure.

::: Aware Legs :::
Grounded and adaptable, legs capable of generating power while providing anchors for intelligent action.

::: Aware Spine :::
From foundational principles to inverted exploration, we’ll move into the vastness of spinal intelligence—where structure meets move-ability.

::: Somatic Mapping :::
The internal world is as vast as the external. Through sensory awareness and subtle practice, we’ll map the territories of breath, attention, and the felt sense—bridging physical movement with the immaterial.

Lectures will accompany the practical work. A few topics include:
• The Intelligence of Structure
• Movement as Memory: Our Conditioned Archive
• The Language of the Limbs

What we’ve been up to:

Movement has many faces. Our current work takes the shape of; rolls, handstands, arching, rounding, cartwheels, object work; all in an effort to find the depths.

We try with words but they can only act as pointers to what is. The present is experienced directly through the body; through our five sense perceptions, and falls below the conceptual mind. This past weekend we took a dive into the experiential “waking down” using movement as a doorway to our immediate present.

This group showed up and responded to the tasks at hand, present, willing and sincere- the definition of practitioners in our book. See you for the next one!
