LaToya Mbayu’s immigration story has taken her and her family on a journey back and forth between countries and states.

“My story is my mom’s story,” she says, reflecting on the sacrifices her mom made to get LaToya through her doctorate here in the US, and now a fledgling private chef business, @_chef_toya.

“I don’t see much Cameroonian food in Minnesota” she says. So she’s coming to our rescue with beef soya, puff puff and beans, director general chicken and her signature @simes.pepper Sime’s pepper 🌶️ sauce.

Selling pepper sauce is a gift she inherited from her grandmother, along with her culinary prowess and passion.

Is her mom Regine proud? You bet. 👍

Oh hi 👋🏾 it’s me again basking from my 3-day cloud nine! I think it’s amazing to know something that I started this year has grown to a community of folks who appreciate my vision.

I told @playfessionals on Thursday night I’m from this city and it’s my legacy to contribute to it wholeheartedly!

@_chef_toya and I weren’t messing around because we come from a long line of hustlers and beautiful authentic women who make magic in the kitchen.
