Another good hang at my place with new friends in the design-build community. I’m so proud of how this recurring event has grown in the almost-year I’ve been in this industry. I’ve met so many amazing people who are as talented as they are lovely and so grateful to have been welcomed so warmly into this community! it’s what I dreamed I would be able to do in my home and backyard when we were remodeling… Thanks to @audiovisions_ca and @saramurraysales for making it happen.

Popped up a 40x40 tent and cooked dinner for a few hundred in the parking lot behind the Pasadena Playhouse. Big shout out to the kitchen, scullery, bar, and service teams for collaborating like heroes and working together towards a common goal 💪♥️

Wednesday morning at the Santa Monica Farmer’s market is such a thing when you live in East LA. We have to wake up at 5am to be on the road by 6:30am otherwise it’ll take us almost 2 hours to get there! It’s always worth it though to get there right when they open and get all the food stuff. All the produce is so so pretty but being a chef is hard f*cking work!

Be thankful for the farmers who put food on your table and the people who cook it for you. 👨‍🌾

Was honored to be invited as the first guest chef to collaborate on the menu and production for FEAST: Reclaim the table. 🦃

This gathering was an invitation to reflect on historical truths, celebrating resilience and cultural traditions that thrive today. Through shared food and stories, we were transported to connecting with the land, those who have nurtured it for generations, and fostered a sense of gratitude and respect beyond colonial narratives while gathering around a feast of delicious food.

Chef Jan and myself are both of Latin heritage, with roots in Cuba, Puerto Rico and Mexico. So the menu was written to honor both nostalgic and historically traditional use of ingredients that are in season while also weaving in modern takes on dishes that celebrate California contemporary eating and the foods we love to cook.

Special thanks to @_chefalby and @luluscakess and the entire SoHo kitchen team for bringing this menu scape to life, and everyone who contributed to making this a special one.

@chefjanclaudio invited me into his kitchen at SoHo Warehouse as the first chef to collab on their classic brunch service ‘FEAST’ 🦃 We put together an amazing menu blending seasonality, heritage foods, and indigenous California ingredients and some things we just LOVE to eat. Here’s a lil sneak peak of what it looks like to cook up in a 6-story kitchen for 200 people. If you’re a member, make sure you reserve your spot! See you all there tomorrow!

Getting out of your comfort zone is where you push up onto the edge of growth and discovery of self. It was our intention for this experience to stretch beyond the norms of typical dining, and cultivate something deeper and warmer than what’s felt at most intersections of “food art” • Embodying the equinox was the actualization of concepts Heidi and I have been flirting with for quite some time. It was the first of what’s more to come in future forms. One of my heaviest lifts to date, it expanded me enough to make space to see what’s possible beyond the horizon. We honored the seasons through food, movement, sound, and community. It was sensational and personally earth shattering. If you were there, tell us what your favorite moments and dishes were!

Special thanks to all that contributed, and built this with us. What a labor of love.

Providing nourishment for life’s most intimate moments is something I cherish deeply. In an increasingly hyper saturated world it’s something that truly grounds me and brings me joy. No ulterior motives or strategy, just bringing people together around the table for good food with their loved ones on the land. It’s what life’s all about. 🤍

Thank you for having me @kathy_samsungalaxy + @ianaki_ and for bringing me back to my beloved @moonwaterfarm.

Thank you for having us @littleripper.la!
Had such a cute night trying some menu favorites.
The ambiance here is so warm and inviting, I could’ve hung out on the patio all night! The plates are shareables, and the wine menu is well curated but not overwhelming which we love! Highly reccomend this neighborhood spot — and stay tuned for something we’re scheming up with them in the very near future! 🤞🏽
