One of our favorite parts of scouting is the talent pool is limitless. It's not about the first round. Evaluators make their mark with late names.

In Part 1 of the new series Odds & Ends, Joe give you eight unsung draft-eligible names he's been deep-diving.

Let’s break down CJ Griggs’ throwing session from this past week. ⁣
⁣
CJ is coming off a great sophomore campaign and after a few weeks of summer ball, he’s back at VeloU getting ready for another year with one goal in mind—putting himself in the best position possible to hear his name called after his junior season.⁣
⁣
CJ already has an absolute missile for an arm, so this time of year isn’t about seeing how hard he can throw. It’s about refining the details that separate good catchers from great ones.⁣
⁣
Today’s session focused on staying athletic, creating effortless velocity with consistent backspin, and sharpening the movements behind the dish. We worked through double play feeds, turn and burns, block and recovers, and finished with controlled throw downs—keeping the volume low while emphasizing quality reps and accuracy.

College baseball, it’s been real ❤️
As this chapter comes to an end, I can’t help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. These years gave me so much more than a game. They gave me lifelong friendships, unforgettable memories, lessons that will stay with me forever, and relationships that helped shape me into the person I am today.
Through all the ups and downs, the wins and losses, the successes and failures, I learned that every moment has a purpose.I’m incredibly thankful for my teammates who became brothers, the friendships that will last a lifetime, the coaches and mentors who believed in me, challenged me, and helped me become a better player and person. Thank you to everyone who supported me throughout this journey.
Most importantly, I want to thank the Lord for blessing me with the opportunity to play this game, for guiding me through every high and low, and for placing so many amazing people in my life along the way.
Forever grateful DC ❤️

If I didn’t tag you its because I ran out of tags🤦🏽
