SKY DIVE 🪂 (07/06/24)

One of my biggest bucket list accomplishments this year. I highly recommend doing this at least once! It changes you in a way that can only be explained once you do it. @2025 - to more accomplishments and more successes.

CRAZYCREATIVE🧬

I’ve been taking some time to study one of my favorite forms of art. Animation

It started - with just a flip book. When I was younger I used to draw simple flipbook animations on sticky notes. Then later I’d write my own comics. While creating so many memories through storytelling, reading, and television; My interest sparked and has stuck with me throughout my ongoing journey.

In between the time of my youth and now, I’ve conducted a ton of research and study into how an animation is produced. Once I found the means I practiced on a digital pen and pad using Windows/Krita making digital art pieces and simple animations. At the beginning of 2022 I purchase the IPad Pro. and slowly but surely I made my first GIF file. Which brings me to this! It’s made up of roughly 500+ frames. All self drawn, frame by frame using onion skins as a guide through each individual frame. In creating it, I simply wanted to make something meaningful, while also pushing my boundaries passed a 50 frame gif. Thus including frames of myself, and each of my different inspirations. I originally wanted to hit 100 frames, but as I was patiently creating it for roughly a month, I constantly thought of new ideas I could incorporate into the project. Each frame is different. No two frames are exactly alike. Every single frame adds something new, but ultimately make up the entire animation. If you were to enhance each frame, I added subtle things about me or “easter eggs” in small parts of the piece.

All throughout my process, one of life’s greatest virtues was reiterated to me. Patience. This entire project taught me patience, but more importantly patience over something you may be yearning for for some time. I had an idea of what the project would look like in the end, but I had to to be patient drawing each frame. Even after reaching 100 frames I had only produced around 5-10 seconds of animation 😭😭. But I stayed the course and saw it through.

Art is a great metaphor for life. I love how the Lord continues to make life and my faith more relatable through the gifts he has given me. 🙌🏾 More to come.. #ART #creative #neverstop #2023

As I remember the life of an icon @kobebryant a year later, the Lords message still stands: Use your God given gifts to serve him, reach others, and encourage them to do the same. We aren’t here forever, so let’s remember to make the most of our lives while we still are. 🙏🏾🐍
