When we think of upcycling, footwear isn’t always the first thing that comes to mind. But in Kantamanto? We’ve got people turning discarded shoes and materials into something entirely new. 👟👟🧡 The Kanta ecosystem has birthed some incredibly talented footwear upcycling specialists, many of whom we’ve been lucky enough to welcome into the OWO School — our training and incubation programme for upcyclers. This OWO Day on Oct 25, our alumni will be bringing their creations to sell at The Upcycling Bazaar, while our newest footwear cohort will be showcasing their work as part of the OWO School exhibition. Trust us, you don’t want to miss this one. 🎟️ Get your tickets through the link in bio, or come along to our OWO activations throughout October for your chance to win some free tickets! 📍 The Upcycling Bazaar | Untamed Empire 📅 October 25 #OWO26 #TheUpcyclingBazaar #RoadtoOWO26 #Kantamanto #FootwearUpcycling

For the last three years, every single week, the Tide Turners have shown up for Accra’s coast. This crew from the Arts Centre community collectively stewards nearly two hectares of coastal wetlands, tackling the textile waste that washes onto our shores and joining drainage exercises further inland to help keep Accra’s waterways moving. They see the ecological burden of the global textile waste crisis up close - every week, year after year. And every year, we join them. This ObroniWawu October, we’re bringing our community back to the coast for another day of caring, celebrating and showing up for the people doing this work. Come clean the coast with us, then stay for the music, food, dance and exhibitions. Show up. Show out. Bring your people. 🧡🌊 📍 The Tide Turners Shed, find us on Google Maps
