So I haven’t posted in a while so I thought I’d update my natural hair journey so far.

Seven months down and I’m still wearing my curls. My go to hairstyle is a high bun to protect my ends from drying out but on this day the sun was just glorious, so the puff was puffing lol.

It hasn’t been challenging wearing my curls, I’ve been focusing on using products my hair takes well too. Natural hair takes time and commitment but once you have a set routine it’s a breeze to maintain.

So, I’m really embracing my natural hair guys. Some of you may know I’ve always loved natural textured hair but as I got older I confirmed to relaxers, weaves and wearing wigs; everyone around me was doing it. Now hear me out, I still do like straight hair but I love my kinky texture wayyy more.

At the start of the pandemic I embarked on something new. As a semi-pro natural hair lover I craved for something that would allow me ease, flexibility and embodied how I felt about my hair.

So, I invested in my hair and began wearing satin hair protectants (bonnets); at night for bed and during the day whilst ‘working from home’. Since then my hair has been in a good place and flourishing well.

Wearing a hair protectant (bonnet) has been self love for my hair as it preserves my curls, locks in moisture and stays on my head all night.
