Some familiar storybook friends have found a new home in University City!

Today, we gathered at University City Regional @cmlibrary to unveil the new Storybook Sculpture Collection, featuring beloved characters from “The Very Hungry Caterpillar,” “The Cat in the Hat,” and “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!”

Created by local artist @janevatyree, the collection is designed to spark imagination, encourage curiosity, and help families experience the joy of storytelling in a whole new way.

We were grateful to hear from Council Member @reneepjohnson4clt, Council Member @mgraham_clt, University City Regional Library Branch Manager Debra Sharp, University City Partners Board Chair Alex Romero, and artist Janeva Tyree as we celebrated this new addition to our community.

The new sculptures are waiting lakeside at University City Regional Library for families, readers, and curious visitors to experience for themselves!

Summertime is slowly salsa-ing away, but we’re keeping the vibes hot until fall clocks in! 💃

Treat yourself to your go-to taco stack, sip on a sangria, and choose the patio seat that calls your name. The hall is open regular hours for Labor Day. Are you kicking back for a solo break, challenging the crew to cornhole, or swinging back to test your brain power at @optimisthallclt Wednesday trivia?

In the heart of our house, you’ll find our sous, @chxfdeli. Christian brings creativity and heartfelt comfort into every plate we serve.

The canestri verde, in his words, is “nostalgic, simplistic, delicious, and unique. It feels like home on a plate. Every bite makes you feel like you’re at abuela’s house,” he shared.

A great food scene isn’t built by a single restaurant or a single chef. It takes a whole community. That means the local spots that came before us, the crews cooking alongside us today, and the new places popping up next.

A big thank you to @the_adventurist_magazine for including both @customshopclt and @emmylousclt in their latest feature among other great local talent. We’re just grateful to do what we love in this city every day.
