Spinning Yarns With Sian Episode #51: This Thursday, on Spinning Yarns With Sian on @radioone91fm, my guest is the inspiring Mindset Coach @_dan_fleming_! In his own words: Throughout my journey, I’ve faced abuse, addictions, and near-death experiences. I’ve battled various musculoskeletal injuries, sleepless nights from skin conditions like eczema, and severe hay fever. Despite these challenges, I draw strength from my experience as a surf lifeguard and semi-pro tennis player, with aspirations to participate in heavy water slab surfing and surf Jaws. My path to healing led me to study under renowned experts such as Paul Chek, Laird Hamilton, Wim Hof, Mark Visser, and Patrick McKeown, and I’ve obtained qualifications in movement, corrective exercise, and stress management. My life has made me navigate stressful, traumatic, and challenging situations, and has taught me the importance of responding - not reacting, which starts with the breath. My most significant takeaway is that “Your breath will lead you to success”, enabling one to respond from the heart and utilize all training effectively. Tune into 91FM to listen to our kōrero about his journey as a Mindset Coach, self-discovery, confronting trauma, healing, men’s mental health, addiction, connection, and surfing.
