We regret to inform you that Therapy for Black Men is closing its doors.

Fueled by passion and personal funds, our journey has enabled us to sponsor over $110,000 worth of free therapy, touching countless lives. Yet, the path hasn’t been without its hurdles. Today, we find ourselves at a crossroads, with the overwhelming demand for our services outpacing our financial resources, which has pushed us perilously to having to cease operations.

The heart of our mission beats through the support of our dedicated Virtual Care Manage and our incredible IT team, who have worked tirelessly to maintain this lifeline. Their unwavering commitment has been our foundation, yet the harsh reality of financial constraints threatens to dismantle this very backbone, leaving over 4,500 men on our waitlist in dire need.

However, we want to express our sincere gratitude to all those who have supported us in our mission to provide care and support to our community. Your support and encouragement has meant everything to us.

We founded Therapy for Black Men, an online directory aimed at improving the mental health and well-being of Black men and boys across the United States. Our mission is to break down the barriers that prevent our Black men and boys from accessing mental health resources by offering free therapy sessions with the qualified professionals listed in our directory.

Over the past two years, we have sponsored over $110,000 worth of free therapy sessions, providing a much-needed lifeline to those who may not have had access to such services otherwise. We are proud of what we have accomplished, but our efforts to continue supporting our men and boys have been met with obstacles, but we refuse to give up.

One of the biggest obstacles we have faced is the overwhelming demand for our services, making it increasingly difficult for us to keep up with paying for our men to receive free therapy.

Dearest loved ones, it is with heavy hearts that we, the Calixte family, announce that our beloved Paulette Calixte has transitioned into glory. After a courageous fight with cancer, the Lord saw fit to take her home. Although we are sad that she is no longer with us, we are most grateful to God for the life she lived, the lessons she taught, the laughs we shared and the memories we will forever cherish. We kindly ask that you keep us in your prayers, as she will be greatly missed. More information concerning her funeral arrangements will be announced at a later date.

To God be the glory for all the great things He has done.
