Handmade by David himself. 14th - 20th September 10 - 6 Yorkton Workshops E2 8NH come say hello Pinion is essentially a single geometric gesture, but that simplicity is what makes it difficult to execute. The confidence to not add frills and eye to get it just right — is what separates good designers from talented ones. David delivered this one beautifully. So beautifully, in fact, that we may have to accidentally lose it before he comes back to collect it. Saying that his picture does look like he'd sort us out of we tried. Well done sir 👏🏼

COMMENT “RSVP” FOR INVITE LOBBY launches this September. A new platform for British based designer-makers, built around limited collections, original briefs and temporary worlds. Each drop brings together a new group of designers and makers to create objects for a shared space. Presented together in real life, then released exclusively through LOBBY. We’re back from @3daysofdesign in Copenhagen and brimming with ideas and inspiration from all that we’ve seen and done. One of the best bits of the trip though, was connecting with all the people we’ve met along the way - suppliers, collaborators and friends, old and new. We’ll share some pics of our finds and what really inspired us over the next few weeks. But first, we want to say a huge thank you to all the people who showed us such warmth, kindness and generosity whilst we were in Copenhagen this week. We didn’t manage to get photos with everyone, but here are some of the superstars we got to spend time with this week. 💫

The @proofofconcept.show exhibition has come to an end — and the response has been amazing! Really grateful for the opportunity to show my work at @aramgalleryldn alongside a group of talented designers in a beautiful space. The project — Mould in Flux Explores how glass reacts to heat and wood over time. Instead of trying to control the material, it’s about letting the process shape each piece — creating something unique in every glass blowing. Each object becomes part of its own timeline. The Torus Vase has been in Aram’s shop, and I’m so happy with the feedback and sales. Assembled without adhesives or permanent fixings, this chair uses a removable knitted cover that slips over the shell and secures with a drawstring and snap fasteners, allowing easy replacement and repair. Baleen Chair - Designed by @_davidirwin - It is built around a single compression-moulded PET Formfleece shell that defines form, ergonomics, and assembly, removing the need for additional framing. A foam-free system replaces traditional upholstery with micro-coil springs encased in recycled polyester, paired with a precisely fitted knitted cover that stretches only where required. The Design Guild Mark awarded Oslin Collection designed by @_davidirwin for @madebyluum is a scalable, modular lighting system centred around a 3-spoke component, Oslin was conceived to offer a decorative lighting solution for use across a multitude of environments. From bedside lighting to large-scale chandeliers and bespoke architectural installations, Oslin is designed to create a focal point in any interior.⁠ ⁠ The collection draws inspiration from structures found in nature, resulting in arrangements that span organic branching arrays to geometric forms with closed diamond and octagonal loops. All of which are accented by a softly shaped hand-blown glass shade.⁠ ⁠ The 3-spoke connector at the heart of Oslin’s design is cast from solid brass in the UK using a unique moulding version of the lost-wax process. Baleen Chair - A lounge chair exploring circular construction. 🪑 At its core is a single compression-moulded shell made from PET Formfleece, which defines the chair’s structure, ergonomics and fixing points, removing the need for additional framing. A foam-free comfort system replaces traditional upholstery with micro-coil pocket springs encased in recycled polyester, while a precisely fitted knitted textile cover stretches only where needed, reducing waste and simplifying assembly. Designed to be easily disassembled for maintenance and eventual recycling, the chair reflects a logic of doing more with fewer parts, combining material efficiency with a clear, considered construction approach. ♻️ Designed by @_davidirwin. ALT COMMUNITY . Glen Aray TRS, our Scottish glen retreat concept, presented at the Aram Gallery as part of Proof of Concept: Mould. The work brings together model studies and material tests to examine how casting translates from model to building, placing making and construction in close dialogue. At the centre is a 1:20 micro-concrete feature gable, developed with Spaceplay. Using rigid, flat-pack timber shuttering rather than silicone, the model is assembled, poured, vibrated and dismantled, operating as a true fragment — holding grain, edge definition and weight at scale. Alongside this, material studies with specialist manufacturer Bespoke Concrete extend the work toward full-scale realisation, testing how board-marked and smooth surfaces can coexist through variations in shuttering, texture, hue and aggregate exposure. Crushed rock from the partial demolition of the existing repeater station is intended to be reintroduced within future casts, establishing continuity between past and future. The work invites a closer reading of how architecture is formed through temporary frameworks that leave lasting traces. On view until 18 April. .
