A girl walks into a cantina… and a dream comes true ✨

For the past year, I’ve been sworn to secrecy under the Tyler Perry Studios Dream Collective. Out of 1000 filmmakers, I am incredibly honored to be named one of the 5 Grand Prize Winners. Last night, we finally gathered for a private screening of my short film, PUEBLO VIEJO.

To my fellow winners, Marjan, Shawn, Kaelo, and Hisonni, watching your work was an inspiration. We are forever bonded and cannot wait to see you shine on.

This film wasn’t just a “short” film; it was a promise to push ourselves and build deep connections with our stories and the people who helped make them. I am FOREVER grateful to the TPSDC team, the village who poured their hearts into making this story a reality, and bringing to life a story about a boy and his father at a Mexican cantina on the TPS lot 🥳🍿💚

My love, David, thank you for experiencing all the highs and lows of this crazy adventure by my side. You’re my rock and truly, the only opinion that matters.

Mi familia: mama, papa, abuela, hermano, tios y tías. Los amo. Ustedes me inspiran a contar nuestras historias, y con orgullo llevo nuestro nombre y de dónde venimos en cada proyecto.

My cast: Esteban, Kenny, Patricio, Emiliano, Aisha, Tony, Reyna, Elvia, and Alfonso. You brought your lovely spirits and hearts to these characters. You made them real, I’ll be forever grateful for all you gave to our film. An unforgettable collaboration.

My editor, Deanna, after weeks in dark rooms across states, getting to finally hug you last night was everything. Thank you for your talent, and guidance, and for taking this film as far as it could go. You’re amazing!

6 year gap between us👀.Always felt like way more because of how much you’d take care of me. I wouldn’t be the man I am today without you and I am grateful and blessed that I have a sister like you. The greatest parts of myself and the parts I love most were molded by you. From being a movie lover 🍿 to my variety of music taste 🎶, and everything in between . I thank you for caring so much for me even though we don’t see each other as often and I am so excited for all your achievements and adventures that are to come. Thank you for being such a role model and an amazing sister . Te Quiero 🙏🔥
