Ticket link in bio Join us for an evening of deep listening, bringing together a selection of interdisciplinary artists rooted in SWANA sonic playgrounds at Total Refreshment Center N16 7UR on Friday the 9th of October starting at 20:30. DIJIT (Hashem L. Kelesh) is an Egyptian music producer and visual artist whose practice spans experimental electronic music and illustration. Expect a live electronic performance and his sketch books on display. Intibint is the moniker of UK-based Yemeni producer, singer-songwriter, visual artist, and DJ Noha. Her live performances bring together vocals, field recordings, original productions and reworked traditional and revolutionary Arabic songs from Yemen, Palestine and Sudan. Expect a vocal live performance from her new album. His themes of exploration envelop memory, reclaiming heritage and identity. Expect a new improvised semi-modular live electronic performance. Rainbow Conspiracy is an electronic soundscapist exploring the depths of multi-genre production, drawing on the UK electronic scene and rhythms from across the world to shape a unique, introspective, rhythm-driven listening experience. Expect a live electronic performance. Yamen Mekdad is a Syrian artist, filmmaker and community organiser based in London. His practice is an experimentation in radical collaboration with a focus on the relationship between sound and geography as well as the political possibility of sound. Yamen will be on decks. DIJIT lands on the Markham mix series with a full force listening experience. We did the counting so you don’t have to, and this mix has a total of 23 beautifully crafted tracks in its midst…. From Shaabi to Dubstep to cinematic, and back A big thank you goes out to the inclusion of the Subsism release, which we might add was the reason our conversations started in the first place. Perfect for any audiophilic experience, we would suggest getting cozy and turning this one up. See you soon again soon for Praktikal 🫡
