POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We’re proud to have sponsored this year’s Bedford Independent Film Festival and to support an event that celebrates bold storytelling, emerging talent and independent film.

We had a brilliant time connecting with so many people over the weekend and loved watching the films on show. It was a real pleasure to be part of something that brings creative people together and shines a light on powerful stories from Bedford and beyond.

We were especially proud to see our founder, Sebi, present two award categories. The first was Best Editing, a category that recognises one of the most important parts of filmmaking and the craft that shapes how a story is felt on screen. The second was Best UK Feature Film, celebrating outstanding long-form storytelling and filmmaking talent closer to home.

A huge congratulations to all the filmmakers who submitted their work. Winning or not, every submission played a part in making the festival such a special event.

My hope for 2025 was that it would be just as fun as 2024, minus the emotional and mental whiplash.

I think actually maybe it’s impossible to avoid taking a bit of an emotional beating every year because that’s just life, innit?

2025 was definitely one for the books though, with two truly stand out, life changing moments: watching my best friend bring life into this world, and Mitch and I buying our first house. I’ve cried more this year (in a good way) because of these two things than I think I ever have. I couldn’t look at Maddie’s bump without crying at one point. I was a bit worried I’d end up chronically dehydrated once Ollie arrived.

Those may have been the headlines for last year, but arguably they’re not the only important things to happen. It was also a year of immersing myself in my local community, making new and very special friends, meeting new neighbours, and above all a reminder of just how desperately we need connection with others.

Joining my local Pride committee is one of the best decisions I’ve made in a very long time; not only has it shown me just how fiercely small rural towns will show up and show out for queer people, but it also brought me some truly amazing new friends.

I also had the best birthday I’ve ever had, got to spend time with my long distance besties, my siblings and their gorgeous partners, met another member of the WhatsApp book club in person, and met stick man (idk).

There were six or seven too many hospital visits, fraught phone calls, and tears of the bad kind thrown in there too, but it doesn’t pay to dwell on the painful when there’s so much more to be grateful for.

2026, my only hope for you is for more happy tears, more love, and more fun. And maybe for new patio doors bc I’m sick of looking at the messed up wall in my beautiful new kitchen x

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be introducing the phenomenal cast of Chasing Adonis — the faces behind the film.

First up: Danny Mahoney, who plays Rex — a charismatic fitness influencer whose glossy image masks something darker.
