📚🌺🌴 June is Read Caribbean Month! 🌴🌺📚

The Caribbean is rich in stories, creativity, and experiences that deserve to be read, shared, and celebrated. The books, poems, and narratives born in our region not only tell the story of our past, but also reflect who we are today and how we envision the future.

At the Department of Arubiana-Caribiana, we value the power of words to connect people, preserve memory, and strengthen our cultural identity. That is why, throughout this month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to discover a Caribbean writer or revisit a favorite author from years gone by.

📖 Every book opens a door to a new world, and every story helps us better understand one another.

👇 We would love to hear from you:
Which Caribbean book or author has left a lasting impression on you?

The true community spirit was felt last Wednesday at the 3rd Wellness Cafe with the theme of
" Ubuntu" , the African philosophy that reminds us of our interconnectedness.

That we exist because of others.

We explored this theme through poetry, story games and talking circles.

In the break the @mondi_replika sold out all their earth goodies on the menu.

We completed the night with a nourishing handpan concert led by @sofie.slegers .

Thank you @_dr.illest for your inspiring poetry and for joining us throughout.

We are grateful for all the beautiful souls who gathered.

Stay tuned for the next one...!

Feedbacks;

" I really needed this evening"
" I did not think I would enjoy it so much!"

NOSTALGIA - THE SUNSET SCARF

Nostalgia is a story of remembering sun-warmed skin, salt-softened hair, and the echoes of moments that linger long after time carries us forward. It is the tender ache of a past we cherish, a heartbeat we still feel even years later. A place we return to not because it is lost, but because it shaped who we became.

This collection honors memory as feeling of childhood days spent beneath the shade of the seagrape tree, where we played barefoot in the sand, collected leaves like treasure, and ran toward the shoreline laughing without care. Where the world felt endless, simple, and full of wonder.

Introducing our Silk Fabric scarves and foulards and a NEW product line: Modal Fabric scarves a new fabric and size.
