Diet Coke Out Now

One of the hardest songs Ive ever birthed
Inspo taken from MJ’s Liberian Girl

One day you’ll understand why I had to do this
Got into my head, I thought I knew shit
So good how you give me a rush
Know you’re something I never should have touched

I’m out of my mind, I try, and I try, but I fall behind
Saying what’s my line
It wasn’t just one night
You’re fucking up my life
You’re fucking up my life
But I’m addicted to the Diet Coke

I love you, Diet Coke
Da da da da da da
Uh, ay
Da da da da da da da da
Ay, ay

I’m out of my mind, I try, and I try, but I fall behind
Saying what’s my line
It wasn’t just one night
You’re fucking up my life
You’re fucking up my life
I need a taste of the Diet Coke

The world on fire, and I can stop the flames
Now I don’t know anybody’s fucking name
They all Instagram user, just cause I’m a user
Had the world in my hand, now I’m a fucking loser
Yes, sir, no, sir, I just wanna answer
Think I’m getting closer, got my boys a dancer
Feel like I make the earthquake, it’s my fucking birthday
I just had my first eight

And I’m still like I’m out of my mind
I try, and I try, but I fall behind
Saying what’s my line
It wasn’t just one night
You’re fucking up my life
You’re fucking up my life
I need that cocaine, cocaine

Sit here, watch the paint dry
Cocaine, cocaine
Been snowing for so long, only been grey skies
Never can say goodbye (Cocaine, cocaine)

if you’re a big fan of atmospheric r&b with a punk rock twist, tap in with sei, someone who’s been a part of the ORS community for years 🥲💛

sei has been dropping music for a whileeee now that we’ve spotlighted on ORS, but his latest album, “euphoric melancholy” has to be his fullest body of work to date without a doubt. the album is based around heartbreak as sei navigates through the pain of a breakup. each song serves a specific stage or experience from the grieving process and it’s a pretty dope structure for an album experience

songs like “sweet serenade” give a playful and euphoric punk rock release from the tough subject matter. i loved hearing sei venture into a little more edgy and energetic tone without giving up his full and rich vocal ability

“just like you” is one of the most atmospheric and deafening tracks on the album. with an ambient droning bass, sei gives a hypnotic and deep performance that really adds another layer to the r&b track. this song introduces us to a lot of the deeper and darker themes that we see on the second half of this album

songs like “down” and “some nights” are the dark and emotional twist that really makes this album stand out. “some nights” is a really reflective and almost sensual piece where he reflects over the lonely nights after you lose someone. the lows that accompany that void from that person no longer being there is heard in the pain in sei’s voice

“down” leads us more into a rebound type stage. focused mainly on the intimacy aspect of a relationship, this cloud rap sounding production mixed with his deep and booming vocals makes this a sensual and somewhat unpredictable track

if you’re looking for some of the most atmospheric production in underground r&b right now, then look no further than sei. what do y’all think? are y’all tapped in with underground r&b? how did you feel about the breakup concept? lmk below <3
