POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Happy 6th anniversary, SmileSpace!🎉

In December 2019, I signed the lease for what would become SmileSpace. A few months later, the world shut down. I was locked into a lease, facing delays at every turn, and building a business in the middle of a pandemic, with no clear sense of when or whether we’d open.

On October 12, 2020, we opened our doors.

Six years later, I’m still in awe of what this has become. We started as a team of 2 @dental_consultantnyc . Today we’re a team of 35; 7 associate doctors, 9 hygienists, and many clinical and admin staff members. We serve our communities in Clinton Hill and Harlem, and Boerum Hill opens in just a few months. The impact we’ve had on the people we serve has been bigger than anything I imagined on that first day.

SmileSpace is proof that the odds can be stacked against you and you can still come out on the other side, if you keep your faith and keep going.

Being a CEO is hard. Every day brings challenges, wins, and losses. But it is so rewarding. And I get to do it alongside an incredible team of good-hearted people. What more could I ask for?

To our staff, our patients, our friends, and our family: thank you. Every one of you helped get us here, and you keep pushing us to the next level.

A little dump from the Amira Aesthetics Dental Retreat ‘26 🤍

I went into this weekend excited to learn, but I didn’t expect to leave feeling this inspired. There’s something special about being in a room with people who care deeply about their craft, want to keep getting better, and still know how to have a good time.

So many good conversations, so much laughter, and a lot of moments that reminded me why I love what I do. @doctoramira , thank you for creating such a beautiful experience and bringing such an amazing group of people together. Definitely one for the books. This is more than just CE, this is a movement 🤎

I thought I was going to Miami for another CE course, but this was something else.

Sometimes you get so used to being the only one in the room that you forget that there are rooms made just for you.

Thank you to Dr. Amira and her incredible team for creating space for us. Shoutout to all the speakers for sharing their knowledge and then some! 🔥💎

This photo booth was a MVP of the retreat! I wish I could post every single picture.

Yet another thoughtful touch from @doctoramira
It’s in the details!

SmileSpace Leadership Meeting in Brooklyn! For the first time ever, Dr. Black, our associate doctors (missing Dr. Lee), and our admin leaders met, discussed topics, and shared ideas on how to continue to maintain our highest standard of care. We have an awesome team of leaders! The first picture is of Dr. Black showing our doctors the new SmileSpace Boerum Hill location! 📸: @dental_consultantnyc

We’re celebrating 5 years in business! We survived the pandemic and became #1. While the world paused, we climbed. The government said wait it out, we and kept construction going…

We literally have the most amazing 30-member team and our efforts are visible through the 800+ 5 star reviews in Brooklyn and 350+ 5 star reviews in Harlem. Thanks to all our of associate doctors: Drs. Lee, Camarano, Stone, Bryant, Carter, Castillo, Carter, and Fatapour. We’re grateful for our entire admin and clinical staff, who provide the next-level experience. Special shoutout to our managers, Sara and Diana, who uphold our standards and run the show. Without them, this would be impossible.

I’m in awe at how a simple idea to build a next-level experience—sparked after getting fired—blossomed into something far greater than I ever imagined. Wow. Let’s keep going! Big things in store for 2026!”

Cheers,
Dr. Corey Black, DMD
CEO, SmileSpace

Happy 1 year anniversary(10/30) to the Harlem location of @smilespacenyc! It’s hard to believe the company started a few years ago during the pandemic in Brooklyn but look how far we’ve come! I have to thank all the Drs. Camarano, Lee, Andrews, Wiggins, Elnaz, and Stone for providing exceptional care. I want to thank Diana and the entire team for upholding the highest standard of care for the community. Finally, I want to thank the Harlem community for welcoming us and trusting us with their oral health. Let’s keep going!
