BRICK ON BRICK: BUILDER SPOTLIGHT 🚧

Today, we spotlight another remarkable builder in the Brick Room - @_esthereffiom_

Esther has been building an online community of impact makers. She believes that as humans we have a lot to give but fear and self doubt usually gets in the way. She tell stories that challenge people to live fully, chase their dreams fiercely whilst being kind and relentless in their contribution to societal change.

She would consider it an honor to see someone take a chance on themselves, their dreams and ideas on account of the videos she creates. She will also love to work with TEDx, Mastercard, UNICEF, universities and youth ministries.

In her words, “This challenge taught me that clarity comes with doing and when the goal is beyond you, showing up becomes easier. It has also given my content ‘soul’ because everything I put out speaks to me first before anyone else. The ability to introspect is such a gift I’m grateful for.”

Her word for someone out there:
No one has everything figured out.
Anyone you see succeeding was willing to move from idea to execution. Clarity comes with doing. Just start.

We’re deeply proud of you Esther!

October, 2025.
These beautiful shots were taken at our family picnic @greenvilleng . They were just random shots taken during fun activities, but looking at them now and what they represent, they're worth keeping forever!

Dear sis, @_esthereffiom_ thank you for being a vessel unto honour. Keep soaring! Keep excelling!❤️🌼

I hope we get to recreate this again, wearing unplanned matching colours! 😂😂

“Benny, what tribe is this?” someone asked.
“A tribe in Zimbabwe,” I replied.
But why Zimbabwe?

Every first Sunday in October at Greenville Christian Centre is our Trybe Sunday and Love Feast— a vibrant celebration where we represent our tribes or any other African tribe of choice, as we celebrate Nigeria. This year, I chose to represent the Ndebele tribe of Zimbabwe.

My fascination with African tribes actually began 14 years ago, in 2011, when a friend gave me a magazine boldly titled “Fashionably Kenyan.” (Yes, I still have it! The second picture 😁) Inside were stunning features on Maasai craftsmanship — from the iron cowbell eshikhutu to the Pokot collar made of elephant hair, leather, and ochre, worn by newlywed brides as a symbol of marriage. It was so captivating that it sparked my love for exploring Africa’s diverse cultures.

Since then, I’ve been drawn to different tribes — like the Himba people of Namibia, who cover their bodies in red ochre clay. Absolutely fascinating!

Fast forward to 2025: while preparing for Trybe Sunday, I chose the Ndebele tribe. I recreated their signature beaded Iraso neck collar using African print fabric and paired it with a gown, styling my hair to match the look.

During my research, I also discovered the Vadoma tribe of the Zambezi River Valley — often called the “Ostrich people” because of a rare condition called ectrodactyly that gives them unique, two-toed feet. Truly one of a kind!

Trybe Sunday was everything — rich with the Word, prayer, food, music, and joy. I couldn’t tag everyone, but here are a few of the beautiful tribe members who made the day even more special.

I'd visit some of these African tribes someday...
