The old LOVEBOT H.Q at Brock and Dundas in Toronto, now affectionately called “LOVEBROCK” was my art studio and home. This Lovebot mural painted on the outside of that live-work building welcomed many of us daily, for years. So many of us supported one another like family, and found meaning and purpose together while creating art in that place. If you have fond memories there, please share it in the comments below!

The greater vision of mine, has always been, @sandboxsociety. A community that welcomes and supports everyone’s inner creative child. A place where we can build community that incubates positivity, creative passion and kindness. Now that I’ve landed at a very different stage in my life, having grown a great deal since the Lovebrock days + I’m a father! 😊, my vision and passion for finding and creating a communal space for the Sandbox Society to exist is clear and beginning to materialize. Lovebot has always been about the kindness and love we can all share. I’ve spent well over a decade creating Lovebot but, as all art is, it only exists in the eyes of those who interpret it. Lovebot best exists for it’s community and only exists as something meaningful because of the people who take the time to share the love it aims to create.

The Sandbox Society will be inclusive and loving as well. I’m not sure how long it will take to find the space and build the warehouse I envision but, I’m most excited at the thought of our creative community, one that we can build together so I’ll be working to make that happen. Just like Lovebot, I won’t be able to do it alone, but that’s the best part.. I don’t plan to. Art therapy groups, friendships to form, philanthropic endeavours.. the possibilities for the @sandboxsociety are many. I wonder if you will be a part of this community too? It’s never to early or late to follow your heart and build towards a dream. I plan for Lovebot, my @matthewdeldegan creative work and the @sandboxsociety to exemplify that message.

I’ll always aim to help others and inspire many. Thank you for being a part of this journey. #lovebot
