This past weekend I traveled to Southeast Missouri State to compete in the International Horn Competition of America. I am proud to report that was named a semifinalist and was awarded the Gretchen Snedeker Award for my performance of Tim Martin’s Lament. It’s always an honor to perform and compete alongside such talented musicians and great people.

Thank you to Dr. Kenny and SEMO for hosting such a fantastic competition.

After several months of preparation, I’m so excited and grateful to share that I was a Semi-Finalist at the 2026 International Horn Competition of America! 📯✨

As a fun bonus, I also took 3rd place in the 2026 IHCA Scavenger Hunt! 😎

It was an incredible honor to represent DePaul University and my alma mater, Florida State University. I’m so proud to carry both of these communities with me and grateful for the people and experiences that have shaped me as a musician.

To Professor Michelle Stebleton, Neil Kimel, and all of the teachers and mentors who have been part of my journey, thank you for your guidance, encouragement, and belief in me. I am eternally grateful.

To my family, thank you for your endless love and support. You have believed in me through every audition, competition, performance, setback, and success. Knowing I always have people in my corner means more than I can put into words.

And to my incredible partner, thank you for being by my side through every step. You traveled with me to this competition, willingly listened to A LOT of horn, held my hand through the nerves, and supported me through every high and low. I truly would not be here without you. I love you.

To everyone who tuned into the livestream, sent a message, or cheered me on from afar: thank you. Your support made this experience so much more special.

A huge thank you to Dr. Kenney for hosting such an incredible competition and to all of the adjudicators for your thoughtful feedback. I’m so grateful for everything I learned and for the opportunity to continue growing.

This experience was incredibly challenging and rewarding, and I’m leaving with so many wonderful memories, lessons, friendships, and encouragement. Most of all, I feel so lucky to be part of a horn community that is warm, compassionate, inspirational, and kind.

It was an honor and privilege to compete.

Spent the last month working with the Chicago Summer Opera! I had the opportunity to perform in Carmen and Cendrillon and meet so many incredible people along the way. I’m so grateful for this experience, the music, and all of the wonderful people who made this summer so special.📯❤️

Year 1 is in the books!

Unfortunately I had a bitter end to a sweet year with getting in a car accident on my way home from Chicago. My new Estéban c trumpet got smooshed up in the accident🥲
To be totally honest, I’m glad me and my family are safe and finally on the way home to Kansas after being stuck in Hannibal, Missouri for the weekend. Between this accident, my phone refusing to work, and being stuck in Missouri🤮, it’s been a rough couple of weeks to close out the quarter.

Hopefully summer is better lol
