🌀 THE VISUAL LANGUAGE OF SPIRAL TRIBE 🌀 @_feenix13_ was one of the founding members of Spiral Tribe and a central force behind the organisation, visual identity, design and transformation of their event spaces. When the crew travelled across Europe, it was Feenix 13 who coined the word “Teknival”, a term that would become inseparable from the underground movement developing across the continent 🏴‍☠️ On Saturday 19 September, Feenix 13 will shape the visual atmosphere of the SP23 night in real time, transforming the warehouse through imagery, symbols and movement. More than thirty years ago, @sp23official transformed warehouses, fields and abandoned spaces into temporary communities built around sound, freedom and participation. From 16–19 September, this history comes together at @reinstate_project for the first-ever Spiral Tribe Exhibition in London 🌀 Rare archives, artwork and photography come together with talks, film, creative activities and music, shaped by members of the original crew and contributions from artists, filmmakers and collectives connected to its wider cultural history. Each day explores a different side of the movement before the programme moves to @distillery.n17 for the closing rave on Saturday night 🏴‍☠️ Swipe through the carousel to explore the daily programme. Exhibition entry is free, but a ticket is required via Resident Advisor. Those able to contribute can select an optional supporter ticket, helping cover the programme’s costs and support the independent organisations making it possible. Panel, film and rave tickets are available separately. Full programme and tickets via the link in bio. Born from counterculture. Written into history. For the first time in London, Reinstate opens its doors to an immersive exhibition built from exclusive archival material, artwork, photography and first-hand accounts from the people who lived it. The space will also host a kinetic sculpture by @atomik.kontrol, created from reclaimed industrial materials. Throughout the evening, members of the original Spiral Tribe crew will be present as the exhibition begins its four-day programme. Music from: @meltdownmickey

presents SPIRAL TRIBE British sound system and collective Spiral Tribe organized their first party in the UK in October 1990. Between 1990 and 1996, they staged no fewer than 30 free parties, primarily in the south of England. The three founding members of Spiral Tribe/SP23 were Mark Harrison, Debbie Griffith, and Simone Feeney. In the early 1990s, Spiral helped foster the emergence of numerous French sound systems—such as TNT, Heretik, Psy 4x, Metek, Troubles Fête, Tomahawk, Fraktal, Infrabass, Nomads, Foxtanz, and OQP Sound System—many of which chose to emulate them after attending one of their events. Spiral helped organize the first CzechTek teknival in the Czech Republic in 1994. They organized free parties and teknivals in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, and Italy, spreading their vision of the free party wherever they went. Although the concept of being a « member » of the tribe was very informal, notable figures included: Mark Stormcore, Sebastian (69db), Zander, Simon Carter (Crystal Distortion), Jeff 23 (DJ Tal), Ixindamix, MeltDown Mickey, Kaos, Debbie (Feenix13), Simone Simsimmer, Hubert Mc Scallywag, Nigel (Edge), DJ Aztek, DJ Manic Josh (Automanic Josh), DJ Renegade Sid, Hamish, Alan, Darren, Paula, Stefnie, R-ZAC (the duo Simon and Sebastian), Sébastien (Jim Snake), and others. Spiral disbanded around 1996. In 2011, several original members of Spiral reunited under the name SP23. A comeback event took place in London in April 2013, and they have been organizing parties across Europe ever since. @sp23official @69db_liveset @crystaldee23 @_feenix13_ Design by (]{) - @in_klammern - 2026 #spiraltribe #sp23 #freeparty #raveculture #ravehistory
