END OF A CYCLE It seems like the end of a truly remarkable era for those who have followed the project and expeditions in the Amazon! The Santarém Discus boat left its mark on the Amazonian waters, providing unique experiences, excellent ecotourism, and unforgettable cultural and gastronomic immersions for travelers from all over the world.

The decision to carry out one last expedition in February before passing the boat on to the new owner will certainly close this cycle with a golden key. Is it easy to go and select wild discus? Good question! We set off on Tuesday at 8.00 pm from Santarém do Para towards Óbidos and arrived on Thursday at 5.30 am! Yes, we selected some fantastic wild discus by making this journey – first by car, then by ferry, before changing to another car in Óbidos and returning the same way! Here’s the first part of this journey! Is easy … 😀😀😀 #tropical #santaremdiscus #tropicalinternacional #santaremdiscusplus #discuslovers

Does anyone have any idea what a pair of wild discus like this might cost? Found by Vitor Hugo Quaresma in the Amazon, kept for months at the company in Santarém and then, after several months, exported to Portugal! They’re breeding… but what’s the price!? They’re priceless – there’s no other pair of wild discus like this in the whole world! Just imagine the F1s …. And how much will be price . #santaremdiscus #tropicalinternacional #santaremdiscusplus #tropical #discuslovers

Those of you who have bred Discus before will understand why we do what we do when they remain clustered together for more than 48 hours after hatching! Through experience, I’ve found a way to prevent this from happening! Because in recent months, many have died clinging to one another! On the private page for Facebook subscribers, I’ll be sharing the full video and answering lots of the questions that are still outstanding! Best wishes to you all #santaremdiscus #santaremdiscusplus #discuslovers

There are over 87,000 photos of Discus! Unfortunately, I haven’t digitised the oldest ones from the 1980s – from when I first went to Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore! Now just imagine how many books I could make with these ‘collections’ of Discus photos? It’s easy enough to put together a book like that, don’t you think? It would be nothing more than a catalogue! It’s incredible that people actually like them!! 😂 But that’s how most Discus books are made…
