I decided to give my portfolio a little update and illustrate an old Austrian folktale called “Der unheimliche Käfer” (the eerie beetle) 🪲👁️⁉️

Once upon a time, a travelling man stumbled upon a beautiful linen handkerchief — with an unwelcome beetle hidden inside. Every time the man tried to get rid of the ugly bug, it would magically reappear in the cloth. A weirdly poetic reminder that sometimes what we hold dear carries hidden curses. 💀

Pulled out some good old watercolours for this one. I can't even begin to tell you how nervous I was without my beloved cmd+z 😬🎨

Final assignment for one of my favorite uni modules I’ve taken. Huge thanks to @kinoshita_art for pushing us toward something meaningful. 💐

We were asked to create a cultural tribute. As a proud Austrian from Tirol, I chose to dive into the 'Almabtrieb', an Alpine tradition where cows return from the mountain pastures, crowned in flowers and bells. I depicted it through my own strange, colorful filter. 🐄⛰️🇦🇹

I’ve come to realize culture doesn’t need to be loud or explained. It’s already there — embedded, instinctive, like walking a path you’ve always known. 🩵

In our portfolio class at LABASAD, we had to create a new piece to fill whatever was missing in our work so far. I decided to to do an editorial illustration about a dry topic I love to avoid: Finance🫰

Challenge accepted, rainbow filter applied. 🌈🐱
Turns out visual storytelling can spark curiosity, no matter how dry the theme.

Made under the guidance of the wonderful @grrrrace1 @labasad_design 🙌

Packaging illustration for Lynn Bremners bloom coffee brief. She asked us to focus the illustration around rituals that people have every morning.

I chose to really strip back the brief and focus on what a morning actually is. Which brought me to the sun and the time so I illustrated a sun dial, using a coffee cup to cast the shadow. I feel like this illustration has a really calming look to it ☺️
