As curtains close for "The Rooms We Carry" I am filled with deep gratitude to God. I'm first and foremost thankful for the burden of creating, to carry parts of humanity so closely to my chest until it completely overwhelms me and finds expression for everyone to see and reason with.

To @dollykolabalogun thank you for seeing this burden and giving me room to share what most people would, and have dismissed. I also must speak about your determination to continue to serve and support homegrown artists, praying you achieve everything you set out to do in the contemporary art space.

To @shis_priceless your work doesn't go unnoticed. Curation is a careful task. You felt all of the emotions first and poured in such a way that would suggest that you were the ultimate artist.

To fellow sojourners, Chris, Tiwa, Tobi and Uzor. "Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth", the kindest of spirits and warmest of men. Glad to have shared the floor with you these past few months brothers. Our works speaking to one another and ultimately pointing to one thing, weight and release, but ultimately healing.

For everyone who came to see the show, and all the people behind the scenes, fully grateful for your support.

Thank you @Retroafrica !

Title: The Ambivalence of Our Actions and Inactions
Medium: Mixed media on Canvas (acrylic paint, markers, paper, coloured cardboard, and compact discs)
Dimension: 60 x 40 inches diptych

The tree branches symbolizes creativity, growth, and productivity; the fruits of our minds that benefit many.
The letters are petitions containing questions, thoughts and feelings put out as a form of release and a seeking for help.
The colourful cards represent doors that hold memories: happy, sad, and yhe ones that makes us feel the most like ourselves.
The parrot represent people that depend on us for resources
The background is a nature scenery that represents the answer we look for but ignore due to the forms our expectations take.
The sun represents God who is our utmost source of life, we believe it or not.
