Lighting is a thing…
These guests were already vibing.
The lights just help the vibe a little more.

One of my best DJs and assistants caught COVID right before a major event we were producing.

No warning. No easy backup plan. Just a full-scale event that still had to happen.

At 6 a.m., I pulled another assistant out of his tent at a festival, brought in someone I’d never worked an event with before, and started rebuilding the entire plan on the fly.

Was I stressed? Absolutely.

But panic wouldn’t solve anything.

We stayed calm, got resourceful, trusted the people around us, and executed a massive show without a hitch.

That day reminded me that you don’t discover what you’re capable of when everything goes according to plan. You discover it when the plan falls apart—and people are still counting on you.

When things feel impossible, take a breath and work the problem in front of you.

You might be more capable than you think.

Share this with someone who needs that reminder—and follow along for more honest stories from behind the scenes of running an event business.

To my fellow DJs, planners, and event pros… you know this moment. 😎

Everything is finally set. The doors are about to open. Setup mode OFF. Showtime mode ON.

That little moment right before it all starts? That’s a big part of why I love this job.

We’re deep in busy season, and I see all of you out there grinding. Keep going. Keep creating awesome shit for people. ❤️

See you at showtime. ✨

SOUNDZ FROM THE SEWERZ 025:
Feat. @djgon3r - OUT NOW 🔊🔊

GON3R has been ripping through the PNW music scene since 1996, with over 25 years of djing under his belt.

Whether it’s rockin JNCO’s watching the walls sweat at Seattle’s legendary NAF Studio in 1997, or being too busy dancing to prepare for the world’s demise in 2000 at Future Fest in Atlanta, perfecting your shuffle at the Gorge for Paradiso 2014, or grooving in 2021 on the rooftop dance floor of Monkey Loft… GON3R has provided the meticulous soundtrack to virtually every significant backdrop in the last three decades of Seattle nightlife.
