POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
On October 2, 2026, I had the amazing privilege of receiving the first place award, in the adult short film category, for my first short film, “So You Thinkin’, What I’m Thinkin’?” in Mayor Brandon Scott’s Screenwriting Competition!

I am so grateful to be in the same room as so many creatives who have the passion and gifts of storytelling. I am so thankful to everyone who has been apart of this journey with me. I still can’t believe the first script I ever wrote has won its first award. I can’t wait to see where this story goes as One of One continues to grow.

Thank you again to everyone who believed in me and this story that I hold close to my heart , one day when the time is right I can’t wait to share this film with you all!!

Any guesses on what the film is about?

And just like that… my BTU summer comes to an end. ❤️🗽🎭

When I first arrived in New York, I knew I was coming here to learn about Broadway marketing. I didn’t know just how much this experience would teach me about theatre, storytelling, community, and myself.

Over these past two months, I had the opportunity to work with an incredible team at @situationinteractive, learn from some of the brightest people in the industry, see 20+ Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, meet artists who inspired me, build friendships with an amazing cohort, and experience the theatre industry from a completely different perspective.

I got to meet my mentor, @thenormlewis, who not only became someone I could learn from, but someone who genuinely invested in my journey as an artist. I met incredible performers and creatives, went backstage, made connections I never expected to make, and had conversations that I’ll carry with me for years to come.

And perhaps most importantly, I got to bring Shadows and Sunshine into the conversation. What started as an idea I had years ago has become a project I can now see with new eyes, not just as a writer, but as a marketer, producer, and storyteller. This summer reminded me that the stories we create deserve to be seen, and that sometimes the first step toward a dream is simply believing that it can happen.

To my BTU Rise Cohort 5 family: thank you for making this summer unforgettable. I came to New York as an intern, but I’m leaving with friendships, mentors, memories, and a renewed sense of purpose.

And to @blacktheatreunited, Situation Group, and everyone who invested their time and knowledge in us, thank you. Thank you for opening doors, creating opportunities, and reminding us that there is a place for our voices in this industry.

This isn’t goodbye to New York.
It’s not goodbye to Broadway.
And it definitely isn’t goodbye to the dream.

It’s just the beginning. ☀️

BTU Rise Cohort 5 — Summer 2026.
We rose. We learned. We created. And we’re just getting started. ❤️🎭

My first documentary is finally here. This project challenged me, taught me so much, and gave me the opportunity to tell a story I’m proud to share. I never thought I had the capacity to put something like this together, but God has given me the tools to shape this story.

Huge thank you to everyone who trusted me and helped bring this vision to life. Special thank you to Black Theater United, my beloved Cohort 5, my amazing mentor Lakisha May, and everyone who poured into me and this story along the process.

Excited to finally share this and I truly hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
