I made another zine!!

Ever since I was young, I’ve written letters to my future self. Only a few of these letters have survived, but I recently revived this tradition last year on my 23rd birthday and want to continue this practice.

Sorry to deceive, but this isn’t one of the letters lol. These are letters I keep only for myself. But this is a piece I wrote around the same time last year that still rings true to me today. I wanted to share it with you guys in honor of my special day.

To me birthdays have always meant something beyond just celebrating myself, they serve as a reminder for the beautiful life I have cultivated through the patience and guidance of everyone who has ever loved me and who has been loved by me.

Sometimes I forget what a privilege it is to grow older with people who have witnessed so many different versions of me. Friends and family who have witnessed me die and be reborn time and time again and have loved me through every season.

I am reminded by every adversity I face, every milestone I experience, every heartbreak I endure, every missed call and group chat message I forget to respond to, every ambitious adventure I decide to embark on, and every kind word shared about me that I am unconditionally loved by those who know me truly and deeply.

I feel beyond grateful to get to call my life my own and even more grateful that I get to experience it with some of the most beautiful souls on this planet.

Thank you to anyone and everyone who has allowed me to be a constant in their life. I can only hope I bring you as much light and joy into your lives as you have brought into mine.

Happy birthday to me and happy birthday to us.

One more week of nursing school with my girls, we watched the trees change colors as we studied away on campus for hours and hours. honestly, it was them who kept me afloat, I would wake up knowing my sisters and I would slay them study sessions and together we PUSHED through! I know where-ever life takes these Queens they will conquer, their work ethic speaks VOLUMES! Their caring hearts, and loving spirits, I am proud of these women!🤎

I can’t wait to walk that stage with you all, I’m sad it’s so near but I am so happy knowing we’re opening a new chapter of our lives and also knowing that I’ve made life long sisters! Nursing school was H E L L but in the process I found women that caught my tears and laughed with me through it all! If only yall could sit with us, I guarantee you would laugh! LMAO 🤎

I’m really doing this little thing called nursing school💉💉💉 no one will get in my way for this, hustle mode on go! Today I got to do my last clinical for level 2 with my dear bestie @_havenh 🤍 today was perfect, all together I’ve done almost 30+ IVS, & the last pics were just me being CUTEEE before I had to cut my beard 🥲
