Silver for Assistance Dog Benni! 🥈🐾📚

What a special evening at the ABLE Golden Book Awards full of inspiring people and lived stories. Assistance Dog Benni received silver in the Children’s Illustrated Book category, alongside finalist certificates for Bella Is Sad and Benni: The Best Medicine Has Paws. Thank you to the incredibly talented illustrator Cara Ord, Roxanne from ignite & write, my incredibly supportive best friend Graeme and my best girlfriend Lisa.

I also received an award marking the launch of Benni: The Best Medicine Has Paws and recognition from the Parliament of Victoria for this achievement.

Feeling proud, grateful and a little overwhelmed. These stories come from the heart, and sharing them means so much. 💜

That’s Heidi Anderson, Techella’s PR & Media Partner, and she’s giving the final keynote of the day. Her talk is called “Shit Scared, Do It Anyway”.

WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!!!

She did 10+ years on breakfast radio, wrote Drunk on Confidence and has interviewed Kim Kardashian. Now she runs Pitch Like a Publicist, where she teaches women how to PR the shit out of themselves. She still gets scared of being rejected every time she sends a pitch. She sends it anyway.

On the day, a few brave women get workshopped live on stage, and one of them gets her story shaped into a headline in real time.

16 years of building from the ground up!

Living off little money in the early days, working every day with no days off, hustling to get my name and the gym out there. TV, radio, magazines, writing articles, doing whatever it took to establish the gym and build something special here in Perth 🙏

It was never an overnight success. It was years of hard work, sacrifice, belief and showing up, even when things were tough and I doubted myself

Fast forward to today, and I’ve had the privilege of being Team Australia Head Coach for multiple World MMA Championships, travelling the world teaching seminars, learning from some of the best in the world, and sharing that knowledge with my team

Along the way, we’ve produced multiple National and World champions and, more importantly, built an amazing community of people who make this journey so worthwhile

Looking back, I’m proud of what we’ve built, the people we’ve helped, and the journey that’s brought us here

From humble beginnings to the world stage 🌍

16 years in, and the journey is far from over

What a life. What a journey. What a privilege ❤️

📰 **EXCITED TO BE FEATURED IN THE CANBERRA TIMES!**

I was recently asked by journalist Nina Hendy from **The Canberra Times** to share my thoughts on a question so many Australians are facing right now.

We’ve just copped a rent rise. Is moving back in with mum and dad our only option?”**

With rents and living expenses continuing to put pressure on households, my message was simple.

Sometimes taking a step backwards can actually put you further ahead financially!

If moving back home temporarily means you can save more towards a house deposit, it could be one of the smartest financial decisions you make.

But it all starts with understanding your money.

-Know your borrowing capacity
-Set a realistic homeownership goal
-Create a budget and automate your savings
-Pay down debts and look after your credit history

I also shared my **3 Bucket Money Method**, which is all about separating your money into needs, wants and emergency savings.

After more than 20 years in mortgage broking, one thing I know is that **you don’t need to earn a fortune to start building wealth. You need a plan and the discipline to stick to it.**

Today the PR queen came to The Next Chapter. 👑

@_heidianderson from Pitch like a Publicist joined my women for an Expert Deep Dive. Radio host for over 10 years. Interviewed Robbie Williams and Kim Kardashian. Generous, fun and full of gold.⭐️🙌

Heidi helped me land my Mamamia story, “Midlife Women Are Sitting on a Goldmine.”

Here’s what we took away:

✨ PR is relationships in public. It only works when you act.
✨ Fear never leaves. I’ve done TV, American morning shows and the TEDx stage. Terrified every time. Did it anyway.
✨ Your best pitch isn’t your business. It’s what lives inside you. Your pillars, your passions, your stories.
✨ Get good at telling your story. Then tell it again and again.

Heidi, thank you. You’re a gem. My women loved every minute.👌
