Juco baseball,
something that is sometimes looked down upon, but what most don’t realize are the risks you take in doing it. My Juco career didn’t go the way I had pictured it.
First off, went to Butler for my first two years. I was a walk on. Then I wasn’t good enough to play. So I decided to red shirt, came back for my “freshman” fall and earned a scholarship,
played my “freshman” season at Butler, battled all kinds of injury and played through it there.
Some events took place and most of us starters that were supposed to return left.
I was extremely blessed by the Lord, and Coach Murry took a chance on me as a 3rd year guy.
This year for me personally, and as a team at Neosho, it didn’t go as planned. But you know, I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The lessons, relationships, and memories I’ve made at Neosho I’ll take with me forever.
These relationships I’ve been blessed to form in my Juco career I think is what hits me the most. I love this game, I love the grind. I love the struggle of it, but the people you meet, and the brotherhood, the bond you form with such wonderful people is the biggest blessing. The blood, sweat and tears you put into this game are special but even more special when you share those moments with people you love the most.
To both all of my teammates and coaches I’ve met in my Juco career, thank you, because you are truly what is most important to me.
Thankful that Jesus has allowed me to play this game for as long as I have, especially since I wasn’t even supposed to play; but I’m more thankful for the people I’ve met along the way. I don’t know what exactly he has in store for my future, but I trust him.
To all my teammates I’ve met along the way, thank you for being the best part of the game. I hope you guys know I truly gave you everything I had every single day. I poured everything I could into helping us win and giving you guys my all. I love you.
