who knew that being put into a rec cheer team would result me into being where i am today. six year old me would have never thought of being a collegiate cheerleader. she looked up to the “big girls” but never thought she would ever be one. now as i look back on the journey i have had with cheerleading i can say that it has truly been so incredibly rewarding, despite the most difficult times where all i wanted to do was give everything up i knew i couldn’t because i couldn’t let down that little six year old girl who picked up a set of pom-poms and put a bow in her hair for the first time.
as i begin to start this new chapter in my life i give all my thanks to God, he’s given me strength in the most hardest parts of my life and faith in areas where i thought i would never get over. i also wanna thank my parents because without them constantly pushing me to be the bigger person and push myself past my limits i don’t think i would be the person or athlete i am today, i next wanna thank all my coaches i’ve had throughout the years for believing in me and pushing me to be better and my teammates because though we may bump heads at times they are the most uplifting and encouraging girls i have ever met and i am truly thankful to be surrounded by them, i lastly wanna thank madi, though she may not physically be here i know she still believes in me and wouldn’t want me to give up on the sport i love the most.
