First and foremost, thank God for the blessing of being able to coach these young men and for giving me the opportunity to watch so many of them grow right in front of me.

In today’s basketball landscape, everybody is always looking for the next team, the next situation, the next “best thing”.

Sometimes the “best thing” is staying.

Staying through the losses.
Staying through the tough practices.
Staying when your role isn’t what you want it to be.
Staying when nobody is posting you.
Staying long enough to actually be coached, developed and challenged.

Proud of these guys! Thankful they continue to trust the process‼️

Sylvester is a senior guard who recently transferred to @eagleacademybkbasketball, but we got to cover him during The Real 16 @smartballnyc with his previous school South Shore.

Sylvester’s bread and butter offensively came in P&R situations. On multiple possessions, he used ball screens to create mismatch situations where he used a low dribble and change of direction to attack the big and get to the rim. He also likes to keep his defender guessing by rejecting the screen and making a straight-line drive to the rim.

He also displayed the ability to absorb contact and finish with either hand around the rim. We also liked seeing him make the effort to rebound the ball and push the break, keeping his head up and finding teammates for hit-ahead passes.

Who actually thought the 2x city champs wasnt gon “catch a body”……? Ohhhhhhh baby!!!!! Former South Shore standout 2027 G @_humble.levi is headed over to the “NEST ON HERKIMER” aka Eagle BK!!!!!!!! The electric guard who can score from anywhere on court and make everyone around him better, adds another piece to the revamped Eagle BK squad. PSAL squads seem to be stacking their teams with heavy guard play! Where does this place Eagle BK?????
