🔥 PAD LONDON

⏰ October 13 — 18
📍 Berkeley Square, Mayfair

This booth was born from a simple conviction: The finest creations speak to one another across time, regardless of the era in which they were made.

With this presentation, Victor Gastou continues a line of inquiry pursued over several years — one centered on the codes of luxury and contemporary elegance. A search informed as much by the classicism of the great decorators of the 1930s as by the freedom of Italian radical design in the 1980s, with a constant determination to root that inheritance in the present.

Philippe Hiquily’s signature hammered brass meets an exceptional boiserie in oak wood, designed by Jean-Michel Frank for Guerlain, and presented by Féau Boiseries. Answering this ensemble is a piece by Ettore Sottsass for Poltronova, alongside works by Irene Cattaneo, whose organic vocabulary brings a distinctly contemporary resonance.

A table by Emmanuel Jonckers, combining raw black leather and engraved brass, also signals the emergence of a new decorative language — situated somewhere between sophistication and radicality. The ensemble is set beneath the gaze of Raymond Delamarre’s figures representing human knowledge, as a reminder of the enduring permanence of certain aesthetic values across time.

The “Gold Vortex” mirror by Beatrice Serre completes the ensemble, the marble and precious stones glimmering against the gold convex mirror in the center.

More than an assembly of works, this stand asserts a vision. One of a luxury that rests neither on accumulation nor on effect, but on the precision of dialogues. One of a sensibility capable of bringing Jean-Michel Frank, Sottsass, Hiquily, Delamarre, Jonckers and Cattaneo into coexistence — without hierarchy, without nostalgia.
