Just in time for National Thrift Shop Day...it's part one of The Clotheshorse Community Guide To Thrifting! I'm so excited about all of the expertise all of you have shared! When I pasted all of your comments into a Google doc...it was 18 pages long!!!

Part 1 is all about getting ready...Even those of us who thrift spontaneously aren't *really* doing it without a plan! From finding the best spots to honing your focus and knowing what you need, successful thrifting involves a vision, a good list, and maybe a saved Google Map!

Over the next few days I'm going to talk about all the ways you, yes, YOU, can have a possible impact on the world!

The first step to making change is educating yourself because KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Also, learning new stuff is super fun and fills you with a sense of accomplishment! Every time I learn something new, I feel more powerful!

Knowledge helps us make better decisions. It helps us understand why it's important to make better decisions. And I think it recommits us to changing the world! Sometimes when I'm feeling just totally exhausted and frustrated, I'll read a new book or watch a documentary and it reenergizes me.

Valuable information is all around us and it comes in many forms, from film to books to social media to newspapers and magazines. Pick your medium and run with it! These slides include some suggestions, but they are not an exhaustive list (because I only have so much room and time on these little squares!), so shout out your favorite accounts/books/movies/etc in the comments.
