POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Finding out I had to be back in Lagos weeks earlier than I planned to wasn’t exactly pleasant news, but all things work together for my good (Amen?!). It auspiciously meant that there was a larger probability I would be able to attend the writing workshop with @theifeanyichidi, @laniaisida and @efugede on the flier that I’d pined over and mourned because I thought I’d still be in Abuja during it. I scoured the web for it, only remembering the handle said “Tiger”, not knowing how much that name would mean to me after I found it and applied.

I was selected as part of a cohort of 50 brilliant storytellers to benefit from this priceless week-long labour of love, EXTAM 2026.

I’m immensely grateful to @tigerfirerose for this opportunity. As skin-deep as storytelling is for me, I resisted identifying as a storyteller for a long time for fear of being bad at it and for lacking guidance on how to approach it. I’m constantly told to get with the times and improve my ability to self-learn but sometimes the courage to get to where you need comes from having a hand to hold— and my hand, she did, alongside the Avenger-level team she put together; some of the best storytellers out there: @theifeanyichidi @laniaisida @efugede @oyindamolafakile

It was an honour to be so intentionally led through the beautiful, terrifying world of story by these amazing people.

Thank you, @tigerfirerosemedia and team, facilitators, and the big, bright and beautiful minds that went through this journey with me.

I’m a storyteller, and the world’s going to hear my stories.
