Story Time: My name is Ashley Hines, a former student-athlete turned entrepreneur/coach. I was fortunate enough to play 🏀 from the age of 5 as an amateur up to the collegiate level. After I graduated college I went to a combine and performed at a high level gaining closer access to my dream of playing in the pros. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned because I blew my knee out playing pick up with some friends. Some may say I made a foolish decision by doing that because it cost me my dream but I was just trying to stay sharp at my craft. After I hung my sneakers up and the 🏀 stopped bouncing I forgot who I was. If you play sports you know as an athlete you feed off of the crowd. Everyone is constantly cheering you on and it motivates you to go harder. When the 🏀 stopped bouncing I didn’t hear the crowd anymore, I had no idea what was next. I was sad,hurt, depressed, angry, frustrated and extremely emotional. Fast forward, looking back I now realize that I was in the middle of a transition. GOD ended one chapter to prepare me for my next. I’m forever grateful for the obstacles I overcame to get here where I am today. My bond with the Lord is so much stronger than it has ever been 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 🙌🏽 and because of that I decided to pay homage to HIM by naming my brand @greatness_over_drama S/o to GOD and s/o to my family for always being supportive of me and everything that I had/have going on. Last night was amazing but what made it extra dope was the fact that I got to experience NYFW with the ones I love the most ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I’ve been overlooked, counted out and underpaid but those days are OVER.
