October. OCD Awareness Month. On Saturday, 24th April 2027, I’ll be running the London Marathon for @mindcharity. I’ve intentionally waited until October to announce this. It’s OCD Awareness Month, and there couldn’t be a more fitting time to share something that’s so personal to me. This year, after more than 20 years of living with OCD, I was finally diagnosed. For most of my life, I kept it hidden. The intrusive thoughts. The fear and doubt. The compulsions. The rituals. The things happening in my head that I didn’t understand, and didn’t know how to talk about. This year, I finally did. I’m now in therapy, learning to understand my OCD, challenge it and — most importantly — stop hiding it. So I’m running for mental health, for OCD awareness, and for anyone who has ever felt like they had to struggle in silence. And there’s something pretty special about the marathon I’m running. 2027 will be the first and only time the London Marathon takes place across two days — with me running on Saturday, 24th April. A historic London Marathon, for a very personal reason. If you can donate or share my fundraising page, I’d be incredibly, incredibly grateful. And if you can reshare this post, that’s just as valuable — helping the message reach as many people as possible. I’m using mental health services myself, so raising these funds genuinely means a lot to me. There’s a little more of my story and why I’m doing this on my fundraising page, if you’d like to read it.
